I Fell In Love Last Year

 Dearest Friends,

I still have not been able to sit down and share with you about our month long Christmas vacation.
It almost seems as if it didn't really happen because I haven't blogged about it yet.
I am so thankful for Instagram because it helps me document our life with out having to carry around my fancy camera and it is quick and easy.
Every year I like to reflect on New Years and think of what I accomplished.
We were in Seattle for New Years this year and it was magical.
On New Years Eve we went to the top of the space needle, visited our favorite shoe shop, ate clam chowder at a favorite eaterie, bought flowers at Pike's Place Market, visited Dale Chihuly's museum, and made our good luck meal.

Here is my list of accomplishments for the year 2012.

This year I...

Had a baby.
Recovered from that delivery.
Grew closer to all of my family members.
I breast fed Roscoe for an entire year.
I lost 56 pounds.
Fell more in love with my husband.
Set up a booth at my first market
Kept the shops open.
and
I survived post partum depression.

Looking back, this year was filled with growth and love.
I fell in love with my son Roscoe this year.
My life is forever changed and I feel so so so blessed.

Here's to a magical new year.

love love,
Fritzi Marie

A Muse In The Making

Dearies,

Did you have a magical Valentine's Day?
We've been celebrating all week.
Sadly, Baby Coco is feeling under the weather so we will be celebrating all weekend long.

I've been thinking about my single girl days.
When Dan and I were dating he lived in Washington and I lived in California.
I was going to grad school, tutoring Japanese students, substitute teaching, and working at The Norton Simon Museum of Art.
Dan had just finished his MFA and was working for a press.
I would look at this painting, Young Girl Writing a Love Letter by Rotari while on my breaks at the museum and it would remind me of how I felt about my Daniel.
The longing that happens when you love someone who is far away.
I loved our correspondence.
I fell in love with him and his words.
I loved that he wrote poetry.
I wanted to be his muse.

I think my favorite part about Valentine's Day is the correspondence.
Taking the time to tell your loved ones how you feel about them.
My love letters/Valentine's were short and sweet this year.
Sometimes all you need to write is, I love you.

We have big plans to spend our weekend getting over our colds and watching romantic films like Bright Star and Miss Potter
Dan is making lobster tails and I am making Jenny's perfect chocolate cake.

Thank you for being my friends.
I adore you.

love love,
Fritzi Marie

p.s. Keep up with us on Instagram
There is a sneak peak of Baby Coco's first photoshoot.

Happy Valentine's Week

Dearies,

It's Valentine's week and I am so excited.
Last year Baby Coco was too little to celebrate so this is his first "official" Valentine's Day.
I want you all to know how much I care about you.
While my blog has been neglected and email correspondence has been sparse this year, I am overflowing with love for the people in my life.
My Mommy always reminds me that there is a time and a season for everything.
My season for "all that" will come around again.
(I have big plans up my sleeves)
This photo of Daniel, Bono, and me is from two years ago on our last visit to Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
Most of you know that Daniel and I moved to Hattiesburg when we were newlyweds.
We lived there for 3 years while Daniel worked on his PhD.
Last night a tornado went through Hattiesburg and I am so sad about it.
Our little town is hurting right now.
A friend of mine lost his home and car.
He nearly lost his puppy too (thankfully they found her today).
Today I am sending all my Valentine love to my friends in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
Here's to recovery and mended hearts.

love love,
Fritzi

p.s. You can donate to help the people in need in Hattiesburg via The Red Cross at

Prelude To A Kiss

February is my favorite month.
It is my favorite month to go to Disneyland and Valentine's Day is my favorite holiday.
I watched something on TV that reminded me of my young single girl days and while it took me back, it also reminded me of the romance I have in my life everyday.
You see, when I was young I was one of those girlie girls who would swoon over a good screen kiss.
I would rewind it over and over and if that kiss was accompanied with a great song, I would listen to that on repeat.
I loved the romance of it all.
When real life romance found me, I didn't get the same thrill out of these kissing scenes.
Well, watch this and maybe it will take you back as well.
Also, watch this and this and this one too for a good Valentine's month kick off.
We all need to have a moment to go back to our girlie girl days and rewind some scenes.
February is the perfect time to do it.

Happy February, Dearies.

love love,
Fritzi
