Home Again, Home Again, Giggity-Gig

Dearies,

We've missed you.
Roscoe and I are in California with family.

We have been having way too much fun visiting with our friends and family.
We survived our first flight (with the help of a lovely young lady who I happened to sit by).
Roscoe went to the beach for the first time with his Auntie Beep.

We have been visiting some of our favorite eateries.
I'll share more about that soon.

We are gearing up for a big weekend of family parties and we can't wait to see everyone.

We miss our Daniel and Bono Baby terribly.
It is so nice to be surrounded by dear friends and loved ones.
Living far away in Alabama is hard sometimes. It is so nice to be able to come home and re-group.
I am so thankful to be here right now.

love love love,
Fritzi Marie

p.s. Roscoe is going to Disneyland for the first time next week.

Dan's Meat Party

Dearies,

Today is my Hot Dog's (Daniel Walter's) 40th birthday.
We had his Meat Party this weekend.

Most of you know that I don't eat red meat (well I'll admit that I started eating bacon a bit when I got pregnant with Roscoe).  Anyhow, Dan doesn't get to eat as much meat as he would like so he requested that we celebrate by having a meat party.
Dan made beer brats and grilled burgers on his new Weber grill that my sister Annie gifted him for this special birthday.

Bono Baby was in hog heaven.
He even made nice with our guests.
They were sweet to share their treats with him.

Our dear friends from Dan's grad school days (in Mississippi) were able to come over to celebrate.
We love being with them so much.

There was plenty of food and festive conversation.

Roscoe was on good behavior.
He even chilled out in his bouncy chair (a rarity) while we ate.

Roscoe loved flirting with his "Aunties".
Our little man is all eyes.

Daniel wanted 40 candles to blow out and wish on.
With all the candle magic and fun times with friends, he forgot to wish.
Thankfully a dear friend dropped off cupcakes last night so he can make his official wish today.
Wish making is a big deal around here.

Daniel,
Happy 40th Birthday.
I love you so much and very much.

love and hugs,
Fritzi Marie

Life is the flower for which love is the honey. -Victor Hugo

Daniel and I are mildly obsessed with honey.
We love to put it on toast, in our herbal tea, and in peanut butter balls.
Roscoe uses Baby Bee's products because I like him to smell like a honey bear.
We especially get excited when we find local honey.
We met a lovely new honey maker yesterday, Rawhide Hollow.
I wanted to tell you all about her because she makes these adorable mini honey bears for wedding and party favors.
How cute is that little honey bear?
I want to have a big party just so I can give out her amazing honey bears.
Oh also, how cute would this vintage honey bear pot look at a honey themed shower or in your kitchen?
So much fun.

Happy Sunday Dearies.

hugs,
Fritzi Marie

p.s. You can get in touch with Margaret of Rawhide Hollow at mwn1403@gmail.com
Her Alabama honey is amazing.

To The Market We Will Go

Dearies,

Our little family spent another lovely Saturday morning at the Southside Market.
We are enjoying the process of setting up shop and putting ourselves out there in a new way.
I think it may be our new thing.

Our little table housed many pretties.

We fell in love with two puppies who were on the hunt for new homes.
Some special family really is going to luck out.
They were so sweet.

I spent some time this week making broaches with vintage buttons and bits of my feed sack fabric collection.
All but one sold out so I think they went over well.
Next time I am going to put hair clippies on the back so they can be used as a broach or a clippie.
I also made a stack of pin up girl bookmarks
Super cute and sassy.

It is so wonderful to be able to go out and meet new people while sharing our pretties.
It makes me so happy.

love and hugs,
Fritzi Marie

Deep summer is when laziness finds respectability. ~Sam Keen

Dearies,

Summer is quickly coming to an end (fall semester starts Thursday).
Our little town is all abuzz with new students.
Dan is busy getting his fall syllabi together.
I had my last summer water aerobics class this morning.
Roscoe is going swimming with his friends one more time this week.

We watched a couple of really good movies that I thought you all should know about.
Keep in mind that we are on a big nautical pirate kick over here (which seems to have influenced our wardrobe choices as of late).

First is Treasure Island (available at your local RedBox).
We rented this on a whim, not expecting much and we were so happy with their rendition of this classic.
One of the previews on the disk was for a new version of Moby Dick with Ethan Hawk (love him) and William Hurt.
Friends, it was so so so so good.

While we were "busy" being under the weather last weekend, we watched all of the Pirates movies.
They are fun guilty pleasure movies when you're sick.
Plus, who doesn't love a good pirate movie.

Here's to summer movie nights and getting back into the Fall swing of things.

hugs,
Fritzi Marie

Snippets From The Morris Dollhouse

Dearies,

We are a little family of sickies today.
Which in a way is nice because we are taking some time to rest up and watch movies in our jammies.
We are planning on having a lazy lazy weekend.

This week we've been writing lists and dreaming big about our future plans.
Dan found this typewriter to add to his collection while out treasure hunting.

We've been working hard to get the shops ready for our vacation.

Roscoe is getting pretty good at treasure hunting and working his lucky charm magic.

We have been celebrating Dan's 40th birthday all month.
This morning we celebrated by going out for a southern breakfast.
Bono loved the bacon we brought home.
He loves his treats, that's for sure.

Our dear friend sent Roscoe this It's A Small World book and we have been reading it to our little man (while listening to the music from the ride).

I've been thinking a lot about my new Mommy role.
I never realized how much being a Mommy would change my life.
The whole world looks different to me now that Roscoe is here with us.
It's more magical.

Happy Weekend Wishes.

hugs,
Fritzi Marie

Yo Ho Yo Ho

Dearies,

When I look at this photo of myself as a young lady all I can see is Roscoe dressed up in a dress and bonnet.
How precious is that?
We are super excited about Dan's upcoming 40th birthday celebration over here right now.
His birthday month is in full swing.
We are also busy getting Roscoe ready for his first trip to Disneyland at the end of the month.
Today he is learning about pirates.
I think he is going to need a pirate patch asap.

love love,
Fritzi Marie
