Milestones

Dearies,

Our little man had his 5 month birthday over the weekend.
To celebrate we took him to the Tuskegee Airmen National Museum.

It was a neat little museum in a hanger on the airfield where the Tuskegee airmen trained.
We went home and watched the movie, Red Tails
We learned so much about those brave men who fought for our country.

We can't wait to tell Roscoe what he did for his 5 month birthday when he gets older.
Roscoe and I loved climbing in the flight simulator.

We also gave Roscoe a new pair of sandals to celebrate his special day.
They don't fit him yet but (fingers crossed) they will fit him when he goes to the beach in California at the end of the summer.

Here's to celebrating the little milestones.

The Little Things

Dearies,

Happy Summertime wishes to you all.
We have been enjoying our summer to no end.
Daniel, Roscoe, and Bono Baby gave me these flowers that they picked up for me at the local farmers market.
I can't stop oooohing and awwwing over them.
I love them so much.

Roscoe is growing and we are trying to make the most of his favorite outfits before he grows out of them.
He loves this little cowboy sleeper.
I love the colors of these paperbacks that we noticed at the used book store.

Roscoe and Bono Baby are getting to know one another a little bit better every day and they like to play in Roscoe's nursery.
I thank my lucky stars for my boys.
They make me feel so special.

The also make me feel very needed.  Sometimes too needed.
I've been taking a water aerobics class and I love it.
My time at class gives me a chance to take care of myself.
Daniel has tomorrow off and he is gifting me some time to work on art projects.
I can't wait to lose myself in a project.
I hope you all take some time to pamper yourself this week.

hugs,
Fritzi Marie

Daddy Bear, We Love You.

Dearies,

Happy Father's Day.
I hope your special day was filled with love and happy memories.

This Father's Day has been the best Father's Day I have spent in the last 10 years.
When my Daddy passed away Father's Day turned into a bitter sweet holiday for me.
But now, with the arrival of our little man Roscoe, Father's Day has become a happy day once again.

Roscoe wore his fancy boots because he likes fancy boots just like his Daddy.
Dan spent the afternoon grilling.
Bono Baby was a happy happy puppy (he loves meat almost as much as Daniel).

I feel so blessed to have such amazing men in my world.
Happy Father's Day dear Daddy, Dad Morris, Dad CJ, Uncle Benner, Uncle Matt, and Uncle Doug.

Dear Daddy Daniel,
Thank you dear husband, for being such an amazing Father to our Roscoe.
I count my lucky stars every day.
I love you,
Kitty Muffin-Cakes.

love love love,
Fritzi Marie

p.s. Dan has a big ol' chocolate cake with his name on it.
I think his first Father's Day was a grand success.

Cuddles All Around

The little man (Roscoe) wanted me to let you all know that he wishes he could give each and every one of you a hug.
He is such a lovely little thing.

Fritzi Marie and Roscoe too

Happy Birthday Dad CJ

Happy Birthday Dad CJ!

Thank you for marrying my Mommy 8 (has it been that long?) years ago.
You have been a father to me ever since.
CJ, I feel like the luckiest girl to be able to call you my Dad.
Thank you for "adopting" me and treating me like your very own.
Our Roscoe is so lucky to have you as a Grandpa and be named after you too.
We love you so much.
Here's to many many more Happy Birthday celebrations.

love love love,
Kitty, Daniel, Roscoe, and Bono Baby

What's Happening Hotstuff?

Dearies,

We are knee deep in summertime goodness on our end.
Roscoe went to his first auction at The Possum Trot.
He helped his Daddy bid on a new typewriter for his collection.
Roscoe also hammed it up with me in Butch's vintage photo booth.

We went treasure hunting at the world's widest yard sale which ran the length of highway 80 across Alabama.

Roscoe chilled with Eva while we took photos for the shops.

The little man and "Uncle Butch" chit chatted with the peacocks.
They both look fabulous in overalls.

We've been treating ourselves to mini day trips and last weekend we went to LaGrange, Georgia, to visit Charlie Joseph's
We love visiting small southen towns.

Roscoe made his first official scene when he tipped over a whole bowl of veggie soup on all of us.
We love him even though he is messy.

We have been super busy, but oh so happy.
We hope you are living it up and enjoying your summer.

love love,
Fritzi Marie

Roscoe Visits The Worlds Largest Drive In

Roscoe went to The Varsity for the first time last week.

He wanted to eat all of the hot dogs in sight (just like his Daddy)

and he wore his little paper hat like a champ.

He can't wait to eat his first chili cheese dog with slaw.

hugs,
Fritzi Marie

Inspiration

We took Annie to our favorite place to visit in Alabama, Butch's Museum of Wonder, when she was visiting last week.
The thing about visiting Butch is that you always leave feeling so inspired.

We dug up potatoes and carrots in Maggie's garden and Dan worked his magic with them later that evening.

I feel so lucky to have creative, inspirational, kind friends who inspire me so.

Butch loaned us this DVD of Handmade Nation, The Rise of DIY, Art, Craft, and Design.
I have been wanting to watch it for a long while and I loved it.
It is a documentary by Faythe Levine who travels around the US to document the DIY art movement.
She visited Butch and wrote about her visit here.

I feel re-charged and ready to make things pretty again.
Pregnancy and recovery are finally becoming old news to me.
I am thrilled that I am starting to feel up to creating again.

Here's to making the world a prettier place.

hugs,
Fritzi Marie

The Slow Life

We are making a conscious effort to slow things down (big time) this summer.
So far we are loving long afternoons in our backyard.
My sister Auntie Beep hooked Roscoe up with a little swimming pool and she gifted Dan a new grill for his upcoming 40th birthday.
(Dan is in LOVE with his grill)
I will say this, hanging out in the backyard is way more fun when your sister is visiting.
I didn't even mind the bug bites when she was here.

One of our favorite summer time things to do is to go to the local farmers market.
Where we live we are extra lucky because there are two farmers markets during the week.
Dan has been grilling lots of fresh squash for me on his new grill.

We also like to take little adventure trips.
We love to find new discoveries that are tucked away behind the Alabama kudzu.
You never know what you may discover.

Roscoe and Bono Baby learn new things about one another everyday.
Bono B. looks out for our little man and he can't wait for Roscoe to figure out how to throw him his ball.

Our very favorite thing to do is to stop by the soda store for a drink and go to our favorite park to swing in our favorite swing.
Alabama is a magical place.
Our little family of four loves learning more about it with each new season.

We wish we could bottle up the magic.
I would put in a dash of honeysuckle, magnolia and throw in a lightning bug to jazz it up.
Then I would tie a pretty piece of ric rack around your bottle because I love to make things pretty.

Here's to slowing down and eating popsicles.

hugs,
Fritzi Marie

Our Little Fur Family

We had our friend Nicole come over and take some photo's of us "doing our thing" a few weeks ago while my parents were visiting.
I have been avoiding having my photo taken because of my extra baby weight.
Then I had an epiphany one night when I realized that I was missing out on such a special time with Roscoe by hiding out.
We were so happy that Nicole was able to come over to do the photo shoot in our home.
I am thankful that she was able to document this special time for us.
I will no longer be hiding behind the camera.
My little man is inspiring me so.

love love,
Fritzi Marie

We Like To Cuddle

Dearies,

Happy June 1st.
Summer in Alabama is in full swing but to me June 1st means, summer has arrived.
We have been busy little bee's around here.
Our days have been filled with sister time, adventures, cookouts, slumber parties, treasure hunting, and cuddle time with Roscoe and Bono Baby.
I'll share some snippets of our adventures soon.

Happy weekend wishes.

love and hugs,
Fritzi Marie
