Skunks Who Wear Italian Lace

We found some vintage children's books while out treasure hunting this weekend.
While I am always on the hunt for books for Roscoe, I can't keep them all.
So I am putting some of them in our vintage shop
I had to keep this one though.
It is filled with anthropomorphised creatures and I can't let a mule wearing a top hat leave leave my home.

Roscoe loves taking his afternoon nap in his birthday suit.
I read him his new book this afternoon and it put him to sleep.
Thank goodness.
I am looking forward to reading to him when he is old enough to understand.
I imagine he will love books almost as much as his Daddy does.
I hope so.

love love,
Fritzi Marie

p.s. I have my books from my childhood boxed up and stored at my Mommy's house.  I can't wait to start reading them to our little man.  They bring back so many happy memories.

Mommy And Roscoe Traditions

Daniel and I have already established many family traditions during our 6 years of marriage.
Having Roscoe is inspiring us to come up with many more.
We started a Mommy birthday tradition this year.
Every year, Roscoe will get me a card (I always find cards that I love so much that I want to frame them) then he will write me a note in them.

I always pick up wood frames from yard sales.
I can't stand the plastic frames they sell everywhere now.
I like to paint the wood ones.
Many times they are filled with something ugly that is matted.
I cover the old matts with washi tape and pretty them up.

This year Roscoe picked out this Amelie note card and signed it with his paw prints.
Daniel signed it too.
I hope to one day have a wall filled with beautiful framed cards that each contain a secret birthday wish from my sweet boys.

I think family traditions are magical.
I love to look around my home and feel sentimental about so many things.

I hope you had a lovely weekend.
(We spent ours close to home because the little man has been sick).
So happy we did because we took a few family naps.

love and hugs,
Fritzi Marie

Six Month Old Roscoe Grumps

Our little man has been a grump lately.
He turned 6 months old this week.
I really can't believe we have had him with us for half a year.
I think I am still in shock.

While I feel like I am going crazy half of the time, he still melts my heart.
I think I am smitten.
One of my dear friends told me that she loves all the photos of Roscoe but misses seeing photo's of me.
I suppose that is natural but I am going to try to work on it.
Here's to finding balance and enjoying all the grumps.

love love,
Fritzi Marie

Cowboy "Treasure Hunting" Junkies

Dear Friends,

Our little family goes treasure hunting at least once a week.
It is one of our favorite things to do.
Sadly, I have been horrible about getting around to sharing our finds with you lately.
This week we found this red polka dotted scarf and Roscoe's new farmer's market hat.
We were super excited about the cowboy hat because it fits our little man's head just right.

We also found this quiet time nursery rhyme book.
We let it soak for a good long while and now it is ready to go with us to church on Sunday.
Sophie on the other hand will not be going to church.
She squeeks too much.

We figured someone would love this bow tie.
Dan's beard would hide it so we are going to sell it in our vintage shop

I've been collecting old photo's of babies for a project I'm working on for Roscoe's room.
They are just too precious to leave behind.

We went to the farmer's market today and Roscoe was too cute in his little cowboy hat.
His little curl kills me.
That little man is a charmer, that's for sure.

love love,
Fritzi Marie

p.s. I am hoping to share with you my favorite finds of the summer soon.
Here is a treat to take you back in time.

Sunny Alabama Afternoon Adventures

How are you?
Life has been sweet and filled with adventure around our neck of the woods in Alabama.

Roscoe has been super busy growing and exploring.
He started eating this week (what an adventure).
He also went swimming in the "big boy" pool for the first time.

We set up our Fritzi Marie booth at The Southside Market and Roscoe charmed everyone and acted as our lucky charm.

We went to play at the lake.
It was magical.

Daniel picked up these shells and we decided that they were like our little family (minus the Bono Baby).

A Daddy Bear, Mommy Bear, and Baby Bear too.

Our days are so full with Roscoe goodness.
While I am still worried about my figure and miss our freedom, I feel like the luckiest girl in town.
What and adventure!

love love,
Fritzi Marie

p.s. Happy Birthday Mommy Bear and Auntie Buff.
We love you so much.

We spent our weekend celebrating my 37th birthday.
My boys really know how to make their Kitty feel special.

Daniel went out and got us bagels for breakfast and he let me sleep in.

We spent the day wearing our comfies and watched movies.
The were both beautiful movies.
I am still crossing my fingers for Moonrise Kingdom to come to town.
Then all of my birthday wishes will have come true.

Dan served some of my favorite foods for my celebration (salad with big chunks of avocado and crumbled blue cheese, tomato mozzarella basil sandwiches, and mini cherry pies).
My favorite part of my celebration day was being here with my boys and getting lots of birthday kisses.
Oh, and I also am so in love with my new tap dance shoes.

I feel so lucky to such wonderful family and friends in my world.
Thank you for making my big 37th birthday special.

much love,
Fritzi Marie

He Wears Many Hats

Our little man Roscoe got himself a new hat yesterday.
He has quite the collection of head wear piling up in his closet.
Roscoe has big plans to wear this hat (that his new friend Frost made) when he goes to dip his toes in the California ocean at the end of the summer.

We are going home to California for a little visit.
(I can't wait to introduce Roscoe to his Great Aunties, his cousins, his Auntie Katherine, Uncle Doug, and my friends).
We are over the moon excited about it.
Roscoe plans on taking lots of hats.

Do any of you have tips for taking a baby on an airplane?
I'm all ears.

love love,
Roscoe and Fritzi Marie

I Was So Brave Today

Today was a big day for our little family.
My boys helped me cross off number 8 (accomplish a life goal) on my birthday month list.
I gathered up all my courage and set up a table at a local fair.
Thank goodness I had new friends to partner with.

Beautiful Talented Friends at that.

My sock monkeys made their official debut with their vintage trimmings.

My friends sold homemade soap (Misch Masch) and yummy pastries (Everything But The Bubbly).

Daniel and Roscoe cheered me on.

It was a magical Saturday morning and I feel very proud of myself for being so brave.
My little good luck charm (Roscoe) is really helping me get out there and take more chances.
How lucky I am!
love love,
Fritzi Marie

p.s. I am taking custom orders for sock monkey's if you are interested.
I have two orders to work on this week and I am thrilled.

Our Little Family 4th of July Celebration

Dearest Friends,

We hope you had a magical mid-week holiday.
We certainly did.
We like to celebrate the 4th as a family.
Our family is pretty small out here in Alabama (it's just the four of us) so we are making our own traditions.

We dressed up (in our red, white, and blues) and went out to breakfast.
We watched the National Treasure movies.
We took a fabulous afternoon nap.
We grilled.

(Bono Baby loved the food the most).
We took a long drive and walked around our neighborhood.

And we sat in our front yard and watched (listened) to the fireworks and lit sparklers.
It was a perfect 4th of July.

We hope you had a super special time with your family.

love and hugs,
Fritzi Marie

Happy Birthday, America.

Happy Fourth of July Dear Friends.
We are having a lovely day.
Roscoe is wearing little shorts with flags on them and Bono B. is wearing his red and white gingham neckerchief.
The grill is warming up and the sparklers are ready to be lit.
For now we are watching the National Treasure movies.
It's a silly little tradition Daniel worked up a few years ago.
I had to quickly watch Little Edie's clip from Grey Gardens because I love it so.
This is a photo from a few years ago when I dressed up like Little Edie (just for fun).
We hope you are having a wonderful holiday.

love and hugs,
Fritzi Marie
p.s. Please bring your puppies inside tonight.  Fireworks are scary.

Busy Bee's

We've been busy little bee's over here .
Roscoe took his first nap by himself today.
Our little man does not like to be put down so this was huge for us.

We've been spending our days comfortable at home in the air conditioning.
I only like to leave for water aerobics, evening walks, and quick trips to the soda store.
It is just so nice here at home with my little family.

I have also been busy celebrating my Birthday Month.
Celebrating is hard work.
So far, I am caught up with correspondence with friends, my legs are shaved, and I have pretty pretty nails.

Here's to doing it up right!

love and hugs,
Fritzi Marie

p.s. Sorry for the grainy phone photo's.  My phone camera is so much easier to use (since the little man doesn't like to be put down).  I am so thankful for it right now.  I don't want to miss any photo opportunities.
There is too much cute around lately.

Happy Birthday Month To Me

July is here, my birth month, and I am ready to start celebrating.
Those of you who know me well know that I am into birthday celebrating big time.
It takes a month to celebrate properly (in my world).
I have been telling Daniel all year that this year we need to down play my birthday because in August Dan is turning the big 4 0 and we need to focus all of our celebrating on that special day.

With this being July 1st, I have been thinking about what I accomplished this year, my 36th.
I have quickly concluded that my only real accomplishment this year was bringing my dear Roscoe into the world.
While there are so many other things I had hoped to do, I really can't think of a bigger accomplishment.

What I have missed the most this year is my beauty.
I mean, I miss feeling beautiful.
I miss the time it takes to make myself feel attractive.
So, for my birthday month, I am giving myself (with Dan's help) 13 days to make myself feel more like "me".
I wrote up a list of to do's and I thought I would share them with you, just in case you want to join in and help me celebrate turning 37.

Kitty's Birthday Month Gift To Herself List

1.  Write my friends back.
(Roscoe and Bono Baby get upset when I sit down to write emails so this is a luxury)
2.  Shave my legs.
3.  Paint my nails.
4.  Take myself to a movie show.
5.  Do Yoga without Roscoe and Bono Baby in the room.
6.  Finish a project.
7. Take my boys to the park.
8.  Cross a life goal off of my list.
9.  Shape my eyebrows.
10.  Do my hair.
11.  Go treasure hunting.
12.  Organinze my beauty products so I can make myself feel pretty in a hurry.
13.  Celebrate my big day.

I will be sharing photo's of my birthday month adventures and I hope you will join me and celebrate with me.
Think of me next time you paint your nails.
Paint one finger with glitter polish just because.

I am so excited.

Fritzi Marie

p.s. I love that my little man Roscoe looks a little bit like me as a child.
The photo above is of a sneaky little me while visiting my Grandparents in Missouri.
Roscoe makes that same sneaky little face.
