Let Yourself Forget About It

Today was Roscoe's official due date.
I am beyond happy that he came a week ago instead.
I actually felt up to taking my Bono Baby out for a walk this morning and I was greeted with sweet surprises in our neighborhood.
Daffodils and Summer Snowflakes waved their hello's from our neighbors yards.
When we made it back home, we realized they were waving from our back yard as well.
They made me think about all the change that a season brings.
My season is changing as I write this.
This past week has been filled with changes.
These past nine months have been all about change.

I think I am finally getting to the good part of all of this change.
My pregnancy was hard, the delivery was awful, and the recovery has been the worst of all.
Being able to get out and take that special walk with my sweet Bono Baby and find that change is happening everywhere, all around me, brought me such comfort.
A dear friend advised me to "let yourself forget about it" and that is what I plan to do.

Here's to the changes that we are challenged with and to the magic they bring along with them.

Roscoe's First Adventure Roadtrip

Roscoe went on his first adventure trip late last week when we left the hospital.
We drove 4 whole miles to our little Alabama home.
He loved being welcomed by your wishes on his wish tree
So magical!

My parents were there waiting for him (us) anxiously.

Roscoe met Bono Baby right away and they are still warming up to one another.
Bono has been an only "child" for a long long time (10 years).

My Mommy brought some wrapping paper she had saved from my baby shower (36 years ago) so we could use it to make a sweet welcome banner for our little man.
Thank goodness we made it the night before I went into labor.
Also, Daniel and Dad CJ filled our home with red tulips because they are amazing like that.
I have a feeling our little Roscoe is going to be quite the adventurer.
We can't wait to show him everything.

Kitty And Her Boys

Dearest Family and Friends,

Just wanted to check in with you and wish you a happy weekend.
I also wanted to let you know that I am going to be taking a break from the Internet for a little bit.
My week has been filled with hospital visits and bed rest and I am ready for this little man to make his debut.
I have a feeling that soon my two boys will become three.

Wishing you all the love in the world.

p.s. If you need to get in touch with me, Dan will be still be online.

Baby Bookshelves

Dearest Friends,

My parents are here.
My house is clean.
My overnight bag is almost packed.
I still have plenty to do but I think I am almost ready for Roscoe to make his grand entrance.
He isn't due until January 31st but I am determined to be prepared.
We did have a scare this morning.
I spent a few hours at the hospital for testing and such.
I think everything is okay, they are just keeping a close watch is all.
For now, I am getting ready to add these baby lit books to Baby Coco's growing collection of board books.
When I worked at The Norton Simon Museum bookstore I fell in love with so many "little people" art books.
I wish I had picked up a few of them back then.
However, it is fun to pick them up now too.

Thank you for all of your sweet thoughts and comments about our little man's room.
We hope he loves it.

love and hugs,
Fritzi Marie

p.s. If I owe you an email or thank you note, I have not forgotten.
I'm just a little behind.

A Room Fit For Baby Coco

I finally got around to taking photo's of Roscoe's little room.
My parents arrive this evening so I figured I better capture the room before they take it over.
I still need to finish the curtains so please forgive.

This special little room is so full of love.
So many of you have sent little bits of happiness to Baby Coco and I love to sit in there and think about all of the family and friends that are already smitten by our little man.

Every item in here holds a story.
I am looking forward to telling Roscoe all of the stories behind his special room.

Thank you sweet friends and family for all you have done to support Daniel and me on this new adventure.
We feel overwhelmed with love and thankfulness.

Fritzi Marie

p.s. If you ever come to visit, you can have a slumber party with Roscoe.
How fun!

Sweet Treats

I happened upon a stash of photos that I have never seen before of my Daddy.
This discovery makes me so happy.

We are naming Baby Coco after three of the most important men in our lives.
(Daniel's Dad, my Step Dad, and my Daddy)
I've been thinking about these men a lot lately.

I miss my Daddy so much and I hope that Baby Coco has some special characteristic from him.
I will giggle if B. Coco gets a special twinkle in his eye like my Daddy would when a sweet treat entered the room.
I feel so lucky to have found this batch of photo's.
They make my heart happy.

Fritzi Marie

I Want To Go To Summer Camp

Sequins, Hearts, and Fire Engine Red Nail Polish

Dear Friends,

I'm still here...pregnant...trying to take it easy until Roscoe makes his big debut.
In the meantime I am taking this poster to heart and trying not to beat myself up over what I haven't been able to finish yet.
Instead, I am resting.
I have my feet up and I am admiring my swollen feeties that were treated to a pedicure this morning.
There is just something so special about having freshly painted red toenails.
I feel like a pretty princess.

I spent some time picking out presents for Daniel for Valentine's Day this morning.  I picked out a few for Roscoe too.
I just couldn't help myself.
I can't wait to decorate for the holiday in the next couple of weeks.
Sparklie hearts, sequins, and doilies make me so happy.
I also can't wait to attempt to make this Balsamic Strawberry Butter Cake.

I've been busy working on projects between naps and grumps.
Some of them are top secret gifts but I have also been busy making curtains and gathering supplies to make my own version of these dishtowels
My stove needs some pretty to hang from it.

Do you have any projects that you have been working on?
I'd love to hear about them.
I've been missing you all so much.

love love,
Fritzi Marie

Adventure Awaits

Dearest Friends,

I am so sorry I have been absent lately.
I've been busy sleeping, working on the shops, and finishing up projects.
I have a big deadline to make.
Baby Coco is expected to arrive on January 31st but I hope to have everything finished by the time my parents arrive in a little over a week.
Do you guys give yourself deadlines too?

Please forgive me for the boring talk and know that I am thinking of you all and cheering you on from Alabama.

much love,
Fritzi Marie

p.s. My dear friend Amanda wrote a blog post about what she made Baby Coco for his sweet little nursery.  Go visit her here.
I am hoping to share his special room with you in the next week or so.

Good Luck Traditions

Daniel made our traditional good luck meal of corn sticks, black-eyed peas, and collard greens mixed into a pot likker soup today.
I think 2012 just might be our luckiest year yet.
Fingers crossed.

We finished off our lucky 2012 meal with a Bosco bar that we have been saving in our freezer.
It is after all our year to welcome our Roscoe into the world.

Did you have a traditional good luck meal today?

love love,
Fritzi Marie
