Treasure Hunt / Flea Market Finds

Dear Friends,

How was your weekend? 

I spent most of the weekend cuddled up in bed with Bono Baby feeling under the weather but we did get out to do a little bit of treasure hunting. 

I fell in love with this sweet little girl charming her ducks. 

My Mommy sent me a care package filled with goodies from her treasure hunting jaunts in California.

This set of pillowcases went on my guest room pillows already. 

I adore them.
 

I found this vintage fabric while out hunting earlier today. 

Daniel surprised me with a bag of my favorite candies, Mary Janes, to help me feel better. 

This "There's Magic In Believing" pin was gifted to me last week by a dear friend. 

I think I am going to wear it on my movie date night with Daniel later this week.

Maybe it will inspire some magic!

My Mommy also found this Mommy and Baby bunny pair. 

I like to think it's the two of us. 

They make me so happy. 

I hope you found some pretty pretties this week. 

Sometimes the smallest things bring the most magic into our lives.

Gloomy Bunnies

Dearies,

We've been a little down in our neck of the woods. 
I think it may be the gloomy weather.
I thought today was Friday until about 5 minutes ago. 
I was getting ready to announce our giveaway winner when Daniel informed me that I didn't know what day it was.
Good news is, now I can get excited about tomorrow being Friday and you have one more day to enter the giveaway.
I'm going to watch me some Gilmore Girls and start packing up my art room for the big move.

I've been letting my natural hair color (greys and all) grow out this summer with hopes to make my hair super healthy.

Treasure Hunt / Flea Market Finds

We didn't spend too much time treasure hunting this week.  We did however go to one fancy antique store in Salem, Alabama and I found this fabulous wool cloche like hat. 

For now it is sitting on this hat stand that I found a while back. 

I can't wait to wear it next fall. 

I had to share this photo too because I love the way this hat looks from the side and because today is Fathers Day. 

My Daddy used to like to take profile photo's of me and I thought I would send this one out into the universe with hopes that he may see it.

Strawberry Love

In about a month, I am going to turn 36 years old. 
Last year I made a list of goals to accomplish by my 35th birthday. 
I finished a lot of them but I forgot to make a new list for this year. 
So, I have a month but here is my list of to do's before my 36th birthday.

1.  Finish the projects I have going on.
2.  Don't go out to eat (because we are saving up for a trip to New Orleans in August). 

3.  Take Bono Baby on a date to his favorite park. 

4.  Eat a lot of big sticks and otter pops (because I deserve them).

5.  Make Dan my favorite dinner (mozzarella, basil, and tomato sandwiches).  

To be honest that is all I am going to do. 
My list is short but sweet this year and I think I am okay with that.

Treasure Hunt / Flea Market Finds

I found this pretty tin and I can't wait to put my "secret secrets" in it.
 

This table cloth is in perfect condition and it matches our home perfectly.

I found some more vintage fabric for that project I am working on.

I can't wait to share it with you soon.
   

These ABC flashcards found a new home in my hope chest. 

They aren't vintage but I am in love with them anyway.

These charcoal photographs are for our friend Butch to skeletonize.

Midnight In Paris, Yes Please.

Dear Friends,

Last night Daniel took me on a "hot" date to see Midnight In Paris. 
It was the best film I have seen in a good long while. 
I hope you can make it to the theater to see it.
 

It truly was a magical and inspiring film. 

Speaking of Paris, I hope you have all entered Jordan of Oh Happy Day's celebratory 5th blog anniversary giveaway.

This And That

Dear Friends,

How are you? 
I'm so sorry I've been missing lately.  I've been super tired and busy trying to catch up on everything. 
Do you have grand plans for adventuring this weekend?
We are going to get a big ol' watermelon and spend some time chilling on the back deck while on the look out for lightning bugs. 
Please, know that I adore you.

Daniel took me out and bought me some celebratory gold sparkle-ie nail polish last night. 
Summertime is a time for celebration and I want to do it up right. 
Glitter reminds me of sparklers and catching fire-flies in mason jars. 
I think I'll be wearing gold sparkle-ie nails all summer. 
It just feels right.

Treasure Hunt / Flea Market Finds

I didn't get to do too much treasure hunting this week but I did have some treasure from a few weeks ago tucked away. 

Amanda Dear found this French copy of Bella by Jean Giraudoux in a used bookstore while she was adventuring in France last month. 

I love the cover, it reminds me of a Modigliani painting. 

I found this pair of elbow length opera / burlesque dancer gloves at an estate sale a few weeks ago. 

I wish wish wish they fit me but they are too small (so they will be in the shop soon). 

I adore their pearl buttons.   

While at the estate sale, I also found this amazing red rose tablecloth.  It is the perfect size for a picnic table and I can't wait to test it out. 

I also can't wait to use it as a photo backdrop, so pretty.
 

While walking the Bono Baby the other day, I noticed that one of our neighbors was throwing away some treasure.  I admit I did a little bit of digging but I found this embroidered tablecloth and napkins with red trim. 

They aren't in the best shape but I have big plans to use them for a project. 

The red trim is precious.

Happy Weekend Wishes

Dearest Friends,

I've been feeling a bit under the weather this past week and I am "officially" behind on everything. 

So, we have big plans to play catch up over the weekend. 

First fun thing on the list of to do's is find the perfect Father's Day gifts. 

I gifted Daniel Scodioli's Whisker Wax as an early Father's Day gift. 

If you have a bearded man in your life, he needs this. 

It works magic and smells wonderful. 

It even helps unruly eyebrows.

I secretly want to get this lap tray with legs by Amy Kristine Vintage because I LOVE it and I want to surprise Dan with breakfast in bed.
 

In reality, Daniel likes to get books and fancy pens the most so that is what will happen. 

For our Dad's, well, that isn't as easy as shopping for my Daniel.
 I need your help.  What do the men in your world like to get for Father's Day?

Oh, and I am in love with this Black Apple locket and I think it would be perfect for wearing a photo of my Daniel and Bono Baby around my neck. 

That's Father's Day appropriate right?

Boiled Peanuts, Fishing Poles, and Hushpuppies

Dan and I decided to have a "let's go anywhere" adventure for our Memorial Day festivities. 

Isn't this print by The Wheatfield beautiful?

Daniel looked up some attractions on Roadside America and off we went, to see a "large golden peanut" in Dothan, Alabama.

Dothan calls themselves, "the peanut capital of the world". 

I giggled when we pulled up to the peanut. 

It wasn't all that impressive. 

The adventure was in no way a bust. 

We drove through some beautiful towns and stopped for boiled peanuts. 

We also found a very special restaurant and have big plans to go there for my birthday.
 

The peanut fields are so beautiful. 

In other news, I went fishing for the very first time yesturday. 

Our friends invited us over to fish at their pond and have a fish fry. 

I caught four fish!

I ate one with hushpuppies and pickled okra on the side.

It was a magical night and I will never forget it. 

Dan almost caught an alligator. 

Have I mentioned that I LOVE summertime in Alabama?
