We LOVE Colors

Dear Friends,
I have missed you so.

I've been having so much fun running around my hometown and catching up with dear friends and family.
My Mommy gifted me this amazing vintage purse that she picked up at a yard sale.
She also gave me these shoes which she found on sale for five dollars.

The days have been sunny and the views of the mountains are amazing.
I love being in California in February.
But I will admit, I miss my Daniel and Bono B. so much.

I wanted to tell you all that my favorite way to travel is to bring a few basics, lots of black, and a few pairs of colorful tights to diversify your travel time wardrobe.
My favorite brand is We Love Colors
I'll be telling you more about them soon.
I love them so.

love love,
Fritzi Marie

Gem City Of The Foothills

I'm in California visiting with my parents.
I'm missing my Daniel and Bono Baby but I am being spoiled by my parents and I can't complain.
It is so nice to be home in Monrovia, California sleeping in my childhood bedroom.
I am looking forward to feeling 100% soon and visiting with my friends and family.
I can't wait to get a grilled cheese from In-N-Out too.

love love,

Happy LOVE Week

Happy Valentines Day Dearies.

I hope your week is full of romantic comedies and true love.
Most of all, I hope your love week is full of friendship and validation.
You all mean so very much to me.

My Daniel took me out for Valentines day over the weekend.
I thought I was feeling up to it but I ended up spending most of our date in the bathroom SICK.
My favorite part of our date night was when Daniel set me up in our bed with Diet 7-Up, saltines, and cheesy romantic comedies on Netflix.

I think every holiday should include new shoes and pretty dresses.
These are my picks for this year.
I'm saving my pennies.

In other news, Daniel came home today to find me in my sick clothes, still, after a week and a half.
He surprised me with Valentine goodies and I was so overwhelmed that I got all teary eyed.
I've been counting my lucky stars all day.
I love my husband so very much.
He is up there with new shoes and pretty dresses in my eyes.

love love love you,
Fritzi Marie

Happy Valentine's Weekend Wishes Dear Friends.

We are finally feeling like we can venture out among the living again.
I have big plans to get dressed today.
I'm also taking Daniel out on a date.
He deserves one.

I hope you give yourself some time to prepare for LOVE week.

Water For Elephants

This flu business puts a real kink in my plans to re-group and re-charge my creative batteries.
I did manage to throw together our first book club meeting last night.
We read, Water For Elelphants by Sara Gruen.

I think that one of the most  important things you can do to be a happier person is surround yourself with amazing women who you admire.
I've been so lucky in the sassy lady friend department.

I hope you all get a chance to read this book before the movie comes out.
It is a magical book.

love love,

My friend Diane from The Dew Drop Inn has a New Years tradition where she writes words on little slips of paper and puts them in a grab bag.  She then hands them out.
I love this tradition, to me it is like she is handing out wishes or fortune cookie slips.
At first I was disappointed with my word, SPACE.
But then it grew on me.
My home is my SPACE and I love being here.
I think it is so very important to have a happy home and this word reminded me of how grateful I am for my SPACE.
I also decided that it is okay to ask for some space.
It is okay to put yourself first and take time to re-group and re-focus your life so you can be a better wife, daughter, friend, sister, and auntie.
My word for the year means so much to me and I am taking it to heart.

love love,
Fritzi Marie

p.s. I have Daniel's horrible horrible flu and I feel like death.

Chicken Noodle Soup and Long Bubble Baths

Today I'm taking care of my Daniel.
He is sick and he never gets sick.
One of my favorite things to do to feel better about myself is to focus on someone else.
It makes me so happy to love on my Daniel and Bono Baby.
They are cuddled up, eating chicken noodle soup, watching movies on the couch.
They make me happy.

So, my plan for the weekend is to LOVE on my boys and make care packages for friends.
I also have big plans to take bubble baths and paint my nails.
We all need to take some time to pamper ourselves.
I hope you get to love on your special people this weekend.
It will do you a world of good, I promise.

I adore you,
Fritzi Marie

Dear Upper Arms, I Adore YOU!

Dearest Friends,

Thank you for all of your support and best wishes with my quest to like myself more and truly make this my best year yet.
I've decided that instead of hiding out, I am going to share with you what it is that I am doing to feel more like a Fire Engine.
I pulled a few of my favorite perk-me-up books from my bookshelf and came up with a plan.
Last year I read, Molly Ringwald's, Getting The Pretty Back and it helped me so much.
I'll be sharing more about that soon.
I've also been reading one of my very favorite books, The War Of Art by Steven Pressfield, a must read for anyone who needs help unlocking their inner barriers to creativity.
The third book I am working on is called, Three Black Skirts by Anna Johnson.
My dear friend Amanda sent it to me in honor of the Year Of The Fire Engine.
In it's first chapter, under the heading body image, it asks us to "write a love letter to your bottom or your ankles or some other maligned region to your physique."
Next, "look in the mirror, don't home in on what you perceive to be your faults.  The body is a whole, not a field of sex-object "highlights" or isolated "problem areas. Instead approach the mirror lovingly.  Would you let someone else observe you as harshly as you observe and judge yourself?"

So, my first assignment  to myself is to look in the mirror and see myself for what I really am.  I'm going to pick out all of my very best features and write them a nice long friendly letter.  While I am at it, I am going to write those features that I don't like as much a letter too.
They need to know that they are pretty special too, don't you think?

Maybe you would like to do the same?
I figure it couldn't hurt.

I've missed you dearies.
I hope you are all doing well and enjoying this lovey dovey month.
Thank you for cheering me on, it means that world to me.

love love,
Fritzi Marie
