Happy Weekend Dear Friends

Today is one of those days where I feel like window shopping.
Do you have those days too?
This framed cross stitch by Chez Suche Chez makes me happy.
Daniel made me a mix CD of "our songs" for Christmas.
This song was on it.

We spent our afternoon sitting in a cafe with our laptops this afternoon.
Dan worked on his classes and I listed some treasure in our shop.
I don't have a laptop bag so I went on a hunt.
I fell in love.

This dress is on my wish list, I'm saving my pennies for it.
Michelle Tan has an amazing Etsy shop featuring custom made retro clothing.
Red and Blue are my favorite colors to wear in the summer time.
I am afraid of summertime in Alabama.

I hope you are all having a lovely weekend.
I've been busy reading Water For Elephants for my very first book club.
I get to host our first meeting so I am running with the circus theme.
Oh, how I how I love to plan a pretty get together.
love love,
Fritzi Marie

p.s. Do you have any book recommendations for my book club?

Book clubs are awesome. Water for Elephants is on my list. The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society is a pretty good book. So is The Diving Bell and the Butterfly.

Hello Pretty!

I don't have a lap top bag either....I really like the one you've spotted. I might need to have a hunt too although I don't take my lap top anywhere. Hmm.

I don't know what you've read already but I think The Curious Incident of a Dog at Night Time is a great book! The Red Tent transformed how I felt about being a woman. I can not recommend anything my Truman Capote highly enough! (my Truman's name sake!)
But I'm out of the good book loop really. I always have to go back and ask my gorgeous Kirsten Myers Blake what she's reading and then I read that :)

Ohhhh...I love planning my menu around a book like that! Peanuts, little cones of cotton candy, pretty white bite sized cupcakes with bright colored frosting, popcorn in paper bags with the tops cut off with pinking shears, lemonade. (Of course you have to have some some fruit or a light salad to balance it all out) So fun!! Take pictures! I love my book club...when we read The Help my friend's moms (who grew up in Jackson) made us a caramel cake, grits, fried okra...you name it! Delish!

My book club just read Prayers for Sale and it was wonderful. Peace Like a River is also very good. Some other good ones: My Life in France (by Julia Child), The Book Thief, The Maze Runner, These is My Words, Saving CeeCee Honeycutt, and I second the recommendation for The Guernsey Literary & Potato Peel Pie Society.
