Till The Day That I Die

At one point in time I told Dan that I would never go back to visit Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
I regretted saying that after I left.
I missed the people so.
So, we are off for the weekend, to visit dear Hattiesburg.
I am anxious to see my friends.
Dan can't wait to go to Leatha's BBQ.
I can't wait to get my hair done by the one and only friend who always gets it just right.
Bono Baby can't wait to see our old home.

I wanted to share with you The Secret Sisters.
Let them take you into your first October weekend.
They are so beautiful, just like all of you.
Happy Weekend, Dearies.

love love,
Fritzi Marie

Going West

How it is to know a road.
To almost feel down through
the rolling rubber to sun beaten
asphalt, compressed
by so many tires, seasoned
by deer and possum.  To Turn
up the ramp, merge, hit seventy
and all you can think about
is the hours of road.  Thirty miles
west of Spokane ponderosas give way
to grass hills and the horizon you know
isn't far from the Pacific.  At mile marker
201, like a mole on a green face, a barn, brown
with years.  Day is visible
between every single board.  A mile later, nothing
but earth, north and south and 200 miles
left to go.

Oliver Twist Comes HOME

My Mommy and I found this beautiful blue secretary cabinet at a yard sale in Monrovia, California, a few years ago.
I have been thinking/dreaming of ways to "make it mine" for a long while.
I started collecting vintage wallpaper but an old copy of Oliver Twist seemed more appropriate.
I felt guilty tearing the old book up.
My high school teacher gave me the weathered, cover less copy of Oliver Twist and I love that it reminds me of her.
For now my teacups are sitting pretty with Oliver.
I'm sure that will change in time.
I am just so excited about making our new little Alabama home a HOME.
Daniel sent me a link to this song early this summer.
I was too depressed to truly appreciate it then.
Now it means the world to me.

p.s. I'm planning to have an open house party (here on our blog) in December, possibly January.
I'm waiting for our couch and chair to get reupholstered.
Would you like to come?

Crochet Hooks, Owls, Love, and Little Girls

My friend Tiffany and I go way back.
She is a dear friend to my baby sister Buffy.
I have always thought of Tiffany as a baby sister too.
But now she is a sophisticated young lady with some mad crocheting skills.
She is selling her treasures through her facebook account right now.
I'm trying to talk her into opening an Etsy shop.
(Tiffany, I'll help you if you need help)

My sweet Tiffany-friend loves Southern California.
That is where we both grew up.
I also think that she is one of the most loving people I know.
She loves to LOVE.

Tiffany included some of her favorite treasures on her hanger.
They include:
-A grey (her color of choice right now) scarf that she loves to wear during the winters in Utah.
-A crochet hook
-Owl earrings
-Little Bird earings that she got for a steal.
(Her shop is named CrowShade Treasures)
-Her baby photo (too cute)
-and flower headbands that she crocheted.

Tiffany thank you for being you.
You have so much love to offer the world.

I love you,
Fritzi

p.s. Speaking of Etsy shops. Ashley and I have been working on Butch Anthony's Etsy shop, Museum of Wonder and you should check it out.
He has some serious treasure in his shop

Bono Baby Needs Your Help

Dear Friends,

Bono Baby has a favor to ask of you.
You see, we have been busy tonight putting up some of his favorite photo's on his Bono Wall.
He wants to know if you would like to send him a photo of your puppy so he can chit chat with them at his watering hole.
Dan told him that he would take your photo's and have them printed and I told him I would frame them.
It's our little "pet" project right now.
He wants you to know that he loves you and thinks you're super sweet.

p.s. Bono also picked a winner for the Back To School Love Hanger Giveaway.
Random Generator helped him out.
The big winner is...Heather of A Measure of...
But don't you worry, Bono Baby has a huge heart and he wants to send everyone who entered a special present.
Please send us your emails and we'll get them too you next week sometime.

Also, if you still want to send yours in, please do, we love them.

love love,
Fritzi and Bono Baby

Lady Gloves, Ballet Slippers, Braziers, and Rhett Butler

Whenever I get homesick or sad about how much I move around, I remember my bosom friends.
The adventures I have taken with my Daniel have brought me to my "kindred spirit" friends.
They get me out of my homesick funks in a quick minute.
When Dan and I moved to Mississippi, I met my dear friend April.
She is one of those friends that I love like a sister.

April is a Southern Belle from Louisiana.
She loves Elvis.
She collects vintage treasure and has a true knack for decorating.
She made me appreciate, Gone With The Wind in a very big way.
She is very smart.
She is beautiful inside and out.
April makes me want to be a better person.

April also has a lovely (seriously good looking) family who she adores.
Her youngest sister Aftan made a love hanger too.
I was so thrilled when I saw that she included lingerie.
Who doesn't love a pretty brazier and knicker set?
Aftan is...
-Creative
-Feminine
-Sentimental
-Inventive
-and Intuitive

I'm going to see my dear April friend this weekend.
I can't wait.
It has been far too long.

I love you April.
Give your sister a big squeeze from Miss Kitty.

Lipgloss, Tassles, Gingham, and Diamonds

My lovely friend Kristen from More Than The Mulberries and I have been friends for ten plus years.
We met while we were living in a smelly dorm at The University of Utah.
We were two sassy Southern California girls who were destined to be great friends.
I think our Sassy Natures brought us together.
I will say this, Kristen's love hanger exemplifies her in every way.

Kristen in a nutshell:
-is a fabulous wedding florist
-loves historical sites and traveling
(I'm hoping she'll come visit soon)
-She never leaves home without her sunglasses
-She has a thing for collecting ribbon
-She loves anything gingham
-She always has lipgloss and pretty lips
ALWAYS
-She LOVES jewelry
-She has a super handsome husband and three sweet little one's
-She loves fall and Halloweeen
-She loves to collect recipes and cook
-she loves being "crafty" and makes beautiful tassles for her home
-Black is her favorite color and she wears it well

I love you forever.
I'm so thrilled that you took time to make your love hanger.
You are my sister-in-sass and I adore you.

love love,
Fritzi

Flea Market Finds

This weekend Dan and I went to The Possum Trot Auction and we left with this telephone table.
I've wanted one for a long time.
My Grandma had one at her farmhouse in Missouri.
I remember her sitting at it, listening in on the party line.
She was so cute.
We are thinking about refinishing it.
But for now we are letting it settle in and make it's new home in our kitchen.
Bono Baby likes to sit there and watch Dan cook.

love love,
Fritzi

p.s. Did you find anything exciting this weekend?

Field Trip To Butch Anthony's Museum Of Wonder

Last week when we met the American Pickers at The Possum Trot Auction, my lovely friend Ashley asked Butch Anthony if we could come to visit his Museum of Wonder and talk to him about what he does.
Dear Ashley of Starsparrow has so much moxie.
I wish I could be so open and brave like her.
I'm hoping that some Ashley moxie will rub off on me while I'm here in Alabama.

I was nervous about our fieldtrip all week.
I get shy about these kind of things.
But when we drove up on to Butch's property, I realized that I didn't have anything to worry about.
He is a really nice man and I'll tell you this: go visit his Museum of Wonder, you won't be sorry.
Butch gave us a tour of his beautiful home that he built.

Every corner was filled with magic.

I loved getting a little peak into his art book collection.

You can read an artible about his fabulous home here from the New York Times.

This was my favorite room.  I love the bed and the map/window shade.

This is his beautiful indoor bathroom.

His summer outdoor bathroom.
How romantic.

After our tour of his fabulous home, we went to Butch's Museum of Wonder.
Wow!

Every space on the wall was filled with treasure.

Butch's workshop is in the middle of the museum.

I want to get this one for Daniel's office.

After our tour, Butch let us have a mini photoshoot with some of his work.
Ashley and I are working on a little project.
You should go check out her blog for her version of our fieldtrip.
I will never forget our afternoon with Butch Anthony.
I think what he is doing is so wonderful.

p.s. We wandered over to Butch's Possum Trot Auction afterwards and found some treasure.
Ashley scored and I'll share my treasure with you soon.
Thank you for the adventure Dear Ashley and Mr. Butch Anthony.

hugs,
Fritzi

Happy Happy Weekend to You and You and You and You

Dear Friends,
We are having a lazy lazy weekend around here.
We just wanted to wish you a happy weekend and say hello.
I went somewhere yesterday that I was nervous about all week.
I'll share with you soon but beware it will be a really long, photo-filled post.
I hope you are all enjoying the hanger collages.
Bono Baby and I can't get enough of them.
Bono will be sending a special present to everyone who emailed him a photo of their hanger.
He thinks you are all super cool.

love love,
Kitty and Bono Baby

Punk Rock, Feathers, Romance, and Peacock's

The beautiful Phoenix Peacock of Phoenix Peacock's Fiery Inspirations is here to feed your imagination and inspire you.
Her blog is about just that, inspiration.

Phoenix Peacock included a list so we of her many personalities.
Phoenix Peacock has...
-a spiritual, empathetic, motherly, out to save the world side
-a punk rocker rebel side
-a vintage romantic side
-she is a down to earth gal
-and a glamorous proud peacock who likes to strut her stuff.

All in all, Phoenix Peacock is my kind of gal.
She sounds a little bit like me really and I love that.
Miss Phoenix,
I think you are super cool and I wish we could get all dressed up and go to a show together.
Maybe Social Distortion or The Dead Kennedy's.

hugs,
Fritzi Marie

Lady Bugs, Beakers, Baby Brothers, and Lovers

Dear Madison of The Kitchy Chemist is a smarty.
She is super busy going to school (majoring in Chemistry) and we are lucky because she took a little break to make her love hanger.
Madison is a...
-big sister
-a knitter
-a daughter
-a chemist
and a
-lover-
The postcard she included was sent to her from her Dad who is overseas right now.
The photo is of her baby brother who is growing up super fast.
Probably too fast.
The ladybug reminds her of how lucky her sister (and all of us) are to be alive.

What I learned most about Madison from her hanger collage is that she loves her family very very much.
She is a lovely lady and I feel smarter after reading her blog.

Thank you for sharing with us.
You are amazing and I am so impressed with all that you are doing.
I hope you remember to take a break once in a while.
You deserve one for sure.

love love,
Fritzi Marie

Desserts, Kicking Feet, Sisters, Chile, and Adventures

Heather of A Measure of... and her husband are currently living in Chilean Patagonia.
They don't have a whole lot of closets where she is living so she improvised and put this lovely candle holder that she and her husband purchased in Santiago to good use.
Her "hanger" collage focuses on the love she and her husband share.
Heather loves the outdoors, hiking, backpacking and such so she included some dried flowers that she picked up while hiking.
I can only imagine where she is hiking.  It sounds so picturesque.
She included a photo of her Mom and her Auntie.
They had there very own type of love story.
Heather loves to travel.
She has an MFA in Poetry.
She is originally from the states and looks forward to seeing her family and friends again.
Right now she is living in a pretty cold climate.
She loves sunshine, light, and warmth.

Heather is beautiful in every way.
I can't wait to get to know her better.
love love,
Fritzi

"There Are Always Two People In Every Picture: The Photographer And The Viewer." -Ansel Adams

Katrina of Pugly Pixel inspired me to get my camera's out for a photo.
My collection is small but they mean so much to me.
You see, I inherited my Canon from my Daddy.
The Polaroids have been with me on many road trips.
And my Diana was a gift from a dear friend.

Dan and I both have digital camera's that we carry with us.
You just never know where your next adventure may take you.
Every good adventure needs to be documented with a photo, don't you think?

I am saving my pennies for my dream DSLR camera.
I can't wait to get my hands on one.

Do any of you collect camera's too?

hugs,
Fritzi Marie

Alabama Kitty
To The Girl with the Hair at the
Club Bar, Troy, MT

You must come here every night
looking for something.
Every night larch burns black in the stove.
The black dog in need of a bath lying down
halfway between the beautiful bar and the door
and the old man, who tries to buy you a drink
each night you see him (every
night), steps over the dog on his way
to his nightly descent.
How you wish the train, raging down
the track on the other side of Yaak Avenue
through the dark, would bring more than
diesel smell and naive hope.  Its horn fading
in the hills, like paint fading on this shell
of a bar.  Walking seven blocks home
after four Guinness and three games of pool
the stars couldn't be any brighter.

-Dan Morris

My beautiful friend Lindsey and I have been planning on doing a poetry inspired photography blog for a long long while.
We have decided to dedicate
Thursdays to Poetry on our blogs.
We will start out with my dear husband's chapbook, Following the Day.
We hope you enjoy our new adventure.

To explain, we will be posting a poem and our photographs that were inspired by that poem.
I love how the photo's are turning out.

Lindsey, I am so happy that we are doing this.
love love,
Fritzi Marie

p.s. If you would like to get one of Dan's chapbooks, we have a few left in our shop.

Hedgehogs, Ruby Slippers, Buttons, and Lolly Pop Kids

Dear Felicia from Made For You By Mrs Woo is a hoot.
Felicia is originally from South Carolina.
She now lives with her sweet husband in The United Kingdom.
They have bunnies named Truman and Daisy.
We met over the loss of their hedgehog.
It was so so so sad.
Felicia loves to create and sell her fabulous creations in her Etsy shop.
She loves buttons and The Wizard of Oz.
She is one of those people that you wish you could hang out with everyday.
EVERYDAY.

Felicia,
Thank you for being my friend and for inspiring me to be a better person.

love love,
Fritzi

Peach Roses, Peacocks, Anthropologie, and Kisses in Airports

My dear friend Deja decided to get in on the fun.
This is exciting because she is "vacationing" in a motel right now.
She is waiting to move into her new home (with the most amazing woodwork).
Deja and I met in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
She writes poetry.
She finished her PhD by age 25.
Deja met the love of her life, Sam, while in grad school.
They now live happily in Boston, Massachusetts with their kitties.
Her hanger makes me so happy because she is sharing with us what brings her joy, right now, in the moment (while she is making do in a motel room).
Deja is celebrating her beauty and wearing more daring colors and accessories lately.
She also included her favorite necklace.
Her first purchase from Anthropologie.
My favorite Deja hanger treasure is the "Kiss" postcard.
Her husband sent it to her and it has a very sweet inscription on the back.
It is meaningful and that is what this is all about.
What do you love?

Deja, I am so happy that I met you in Mississippi.
I love you and I am so thankful to be able to call you a friend.
You, my dear, are beautiful.

love love,
Fritzi

She has three adorable puppies.

Flea Market Finds

We bought this sign at the auction the other night.
We paid next to nothing for it.
I love the color and the randomness of it.
We decided to put it up in our kitchen on Bono Baby's wall.
Yes, Bono has a wall where we are displaying all of his treasures.
He needs something pretty, just for him, to look at while he nibbles.

Well, I just looked up the word Zingy and it means:  strikingly attractive or appealing.
Oh my, that is Bono Baby.
Zingy is my new favorite word.

Hooray for a new week and a fresh start.

hugs,
Fritzi

p.s. Don't forget to get in on the giveaway goodness.
Oh, I read this first thing this morning and it made me super excited about our upcoming camping trip to The Smokies.
I think you will love it.

Sunday Adventure Drive

Alabama has little nooks of treasure around every corner.
I never know what I will see next and I love that.

We took a mini adventure drive today after church.
We wanted to get home so we could watch Reality Bites with Bono Baby.
One of my most favorite movies.

One of my favorite things to wear on our Sunday adventure drives is a little bit of sparkle.
It makes me feel...pretty.

The giveaway package will have a special bit of sparkle from my collection hidden in it's nooks and crannies.  Hopefully the winner will have many many adventures in their new sparkle.

love love,
Fritzi

p.s. One of my favorite on screen kissing scenes for your enjoyment.

Bono Baby and I will be hand selecting a piece of (yet to be featured) inventory from our shop for the giveaway package.
We want to wait to find out who the winner is so we can find them something super special out of our 100 plus goodies.
October will be the big re-opening of Fritzi Marie Vintage.
We can't wait.

Wish us luck and get in on the giveaway fun here.

Happy Saturday

p.s. Let me know if you find any treasure today.
I'm so nosey!
Oh, and do you have a good luck charm?

Cheek To Cheek

Dear Ashley of StarSparrow and I took our husbands to The Possum Trot Auction to treasure hunt.

We heard a rumor that The American Pickers would be making an appearance.
Dan and I love watching American Pickers so there was no way we were going to miss out on an opportunity
to meet Mike and Frank.

Not only did we score and come home with some treasure but I got some cuddle time in with "the boys".

I love cuddle time with boys.

This was my favorite moment of the night.
Cuddled up cheek to cheek with Frank Fritz.
He is just too cute.

But, nothing tops going home and getting all comfy and cuddling with my Daniel and Bono Baby.

love love,
Fritzi

p.s. Don't forget to enter the Back To School Giveaway and work on your hanger collages.
