American Pickers Giveaway

Another favorite treat of mine from this year is watching American Pickers
Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz (childhood buddies/professional treasure hunters) won us over when we lived in Washington.

Mike's and Frank’s adventures bring them to small towns across the country in search of weird and wonderful Americana. Each treasure hunt leads them to fascinating, quirky characters – everyday people with stories that open a window onto American life.

When we first moved to Alabama, I met my dear friend Ashley (StarSparrow).
She heard a rumor that the Pickers would be at the Possum Trot Auction, so we just happened to wander down to there that night.
The episode we saw being taped will be on soon.
New episodes for Season 2 of American Pickers will premiere Monday, December 6 at 9pm ET on HISTORY.

I know you all love to treasure hunt and collect vintage pretties.
You will love the Pickers
So to celebrate the new episodes of Season 2 of American Pickers we are giving away a DVD set of Season 1 to one lucky winner.
It would make a great Christmas gift.

To enter, share your favorite treasure hunt find.
What was it?
Where did you find it?
I'll let you know who won on Monday before the premiere.

love love,
Fritzi Marie

My favorite treasure hunt find was an original script from the TV show The Immortal. It was stuck on a shelf at a used bookstore and marked with a very low price but it was original with notes and it had all kinds of set design drawings with it. I collect scripts and this was a fabulous find.

Oh I love that show, and I don't have cable so I only get to see it when I am at someone else's house! I love how sweet they are to the people they visit!

Hello, Fritzi! It is such a pleasure to meet you! I discovered your blog through Bluebird Notes. I was looking through your posts and couldn't help but stop and comment on this one. I am such a BIG fan of Mike and Frank's and often think how fun it would be to meet them. I even look for their van on the road (just ask my kids). As a lifelong treasure hunter myself it is hard to pick One favorite find, but I think it might have to be a set of Beatles nodder dolls for $14 when I was a teenager. There is a set on ebay now for $360 with 3 bids! Fun post, loved the pictures! Have a great day! Twyla

Hallo Kat!

I think my favourite treasures were found at an auction when I was a teenager! Such as someone's collection of Canadian hockey cards hidden in an old box and a lovely old steamer trunk! Nowadays, I love to wander through antique malls and shoppes... vintage postcards, old cabinet cards, dishware, chinaware, tourquise jewerly, old furniture that has hand-carved accents into the grooves...knickknacks and accents, and even vintage panarama photographs of people's college graduations! :) The best part is going in with not a thing to find, and walking out with pieces of living history lingering in your heart and mind.

I know this is going to sound odd -- but I NEVER heard of this show until you blogged about it!! :O Quite sad, I know! :( :( I think it would rock to see it!! And, kudos to you for getting to meet the men who bring such joy of the 'hunt' to everyone! I oft have had fun meeting people who are well known too! :) Thankfully, we've both had wonderful encounters with dear souls who appreciate meeting their fans!

PS: My favourite part to an auction is the excitement of seeing what everyone bids on... there is an electricity in the place -- everyone is hoping no one else wants what they want, and there is jolt of energy when the bids start to fly and everyone is on ready pins... will they or will they not win?
