"The Best Way To Learn To Be A Lady Is To See How Other Ladies Do It." -Mae West

Today in church we talked about how wonderful it is to be a lady.
We were asked to repeat after the teacher, "I am beautiful."
If you don't mind, can you do that for me?
Say it out loud.
It is so easy to give other people compliments but why can't we compliment ourselves so easily?
I want to start complimenting myself more regularly.

I've been so fascinated by dear Amanda Atkins's print, It Caused In My Heart A Forrest.
The ladies that Amanda paints are the kind of lady I hope to be one day.
This one in particular speaks to me.
I wish I could send you all one of Amanda's prints to remind you of your own beauty.

Dan has to remind me daily to stop beating myself up.
I've developed the awful bad habit of talking badly about my looks.
Shame on me.
So, I'm committing to you, my dear friends, to tell myself the "I am beautiful" everyday.
I hope you will join me in the journey.

p.s. Don't you just love this dress that my Mommy sent me?
I think I am in love with it.

Oh, Don't forget to watch Mad Men tonight!

love love,

Dear Kat,
I love your new dress! It's the best color and fit. And you are beautiful! Thank you for mentioning my art in your blog, you are always so sweet to do so. :) Did you get the package I sent you around your birthday? I hope it didn't get mail-lost!
Lots of love,

Dearest Amanda,

I did receive your lovely thoughtful package and it meant to much to me. You mean so much to me and I am so thankful for you and your art. You, my dear, make the world a prettier place. I was really touched by your sweet gifts. I especially loved your drawings and your "Always Wish" wall hanging. I can't wait to showcase it in our new home. It makes me so happy. I have it in our room right now and I look at it everyday. Also, I'm getting ready to start reading the book and I can't wait. I have a proper thank you package in the works but I know you like a good surprise so we'll keep up the suspense.

Thank you Dear Amanda.
I adore you,

This is big struggle for me too, Miss Kat. Sam always says, "Quit being mean to my wife." Sigh. I try, but those thoughts just jump in and make themselves cozy. I'm working on shooing them out. Good luck to you in your quest! You certainly are beautiful, especially in that dress!

You look so cute in your new dress. I love the color, especially with the black. You're way too hot for your shoes. :-) Loves to you,

you truly are a beautiful person, and even though i've only been reading your blog a short time now, i already know it!

i have about the lowest self-esteem anyone could have, and i have finally realized how annoying it must be to my husband when my reply to his complimets is always something negative. i'll try to join in on telling myself i'm beautiful, but i can't make any promises!

your dress (and whole outfit, actually) is very pretty,. and i was thinking, "it looks very 'mad men'" so i laughed when i read about it just under your picture!
