I'll Stop The World And Melt With You

I feel like a little frog up here in Seattle.  The rain is still going strong.
Bono Baby has yeast infections in his ears, because of the moisture.
We are going to leap for joy when the sun comes out.

Do you have big plans for this holiday weekend?  We plan on cuddling up on the couch and watching movies.  Few things make me happier than being in my jammies, cuddled up with my Daniel and Bono Baby, eating popcorn, watching movies.  Side note:  I eat Brewers Yeast everyday and my new favorite thing is to sprinkle it on my popcorn.  It is so good.

Hooray for all the brave men and women who serve or have served for our country.
You are our rock stars.

Happy Weekend  Wishes

Dare To Dream

Last night I dreamt that we had a baby and she looked just like this photo of me as a wee one.
Cute as a button, I'd say.
When I woke up Bono Baby was curled up next to me.
 He is my baby.
Yes, I am one of "those" people.
We had to take him to the vet (again) because his ears are infected.
I think we are so very lucky to have Bono Baby to baby for the time being.

I wouldn't change a thing.

It Takes An Army (Of Friends)

I've never been someone who was comfortable with asking for help.
But, it seems that the universe is sending help my way and I am so thankful.
It is so strange that when you feel like you are the lowest of low, dear friends and family just know to check in on you.
Really, I am overwhelmed by your thoughtful comments of late.
They mean so much to me.
I just received a text message from my friend Alfred (from Mississippi) asking if I was okay.
How did he know how much just asking would mean to me today?
How did my Mommy know that this post card of one of my favorite places, the Trees of Mystery in the California Redwoods, would cheer me up?

How did my friend Jane know how much an unexpected care package would mean to me?
I mean come on, this print screams Kat!
She put so much thought into everything she sent and I feel so special.

Then there is my new friend Laura.
She invited me over, modeled for my shop and took time out of her busy life to spend the morning talking with me.
I've found a kindred spirit in my neighborhood, a sure sign that I am about to move.

I am overwhelmed with love.

p.s. I hope you always know that I am here for you too.
(all of you)

If Wishes Were Trees The Trees Would Be Falling

What a happy week to look forward to.
I am finally coming out of my funk/breakdown/illness and I couldn't be happier about it.
I think Dan and Bono Baby are pretty thrilled to see me in real clothes (i.e. not my jammies) for the first time in a week.
I know that sounds pathetic, but it's real.
Some pretty special things have happened to me lately and I need to remember that.
I've decided to look forward to my future and stop fretting about the things I really have no control of.

I know I say this a lot but it is really important to me.
This blog has been my lifeline.

My friend Deja wrote this about my blog and it meant so much to me,

"Her world is full of treasures and wishes and that is a world I want to live in."

I come to here to feel good about myself.
This is my happy place.
Thank you for being part of my little place in this world.

I am yours,
Fritzi Marie

I'm Gonna Let It Shine

Do you have exciting plans for this weekend?
I'm finally feeling a little bit better and I want to go hiking.
This print from Matou en Peluche really cheered me up this week.
I plan on showcasing it in my future "all about me" room.

I have an amazing pen pal named Amy, she blogs over at Lunie Bin.
She sent me this beautiful journal.
It has so many little nooks and crannies for me to fill with my secret secrets.

I am always amazed by how wonderful people are.
I am so blessed.

Have the weekend of your dreams.
I'm going to try to follow my own advice here.

I wish you love,
Fritzi Marie

Fritzi, You're Wanted On The Horn!

Dear Friends,

I owe you an apology.
I owe the universe an apology.
I have not been following my own advise and I am annoyed with "me".

I'm on a quest to find myself again.
I want to be the Fritzi Marie that I used to be.

Did I ever tell you where my name came from?
My real name is Kathryn Marie but my Daddy never called me by my given name.
It was always Fritzi
When I was young, it embarrassed me when my Daddy would holler, "Fritzi, you're wanted on the horn", when a boy would call me on the telephone.
I would ask him where got the name Fritzi from and he never had a good answer.
It wasn't until after he passed away that I realized that he must have found my nickname from the comic Fritzi Ritz.
It totally makes sense, she looks like his type.

I'm sorry I haven't been myself lately.
I'll be back to my "Fritzi Marie" self soon, I can feel it.

I can't wait.

p.s. I'm working on our diet blog.
I think it will be named Fritzi's Journey To Becoming A Pin Up Girl.

Poetry Tuesday

Dan and Will just finished the Spring Issue of Town Creek Poetry.
Get your poetry on and check it out.

Also, our friend AJ Rathbun's book, In Their Cups: Poems About Drinking Places, Drinks, and Drinkers is available for pre-order on Amazon
Most of you know that we don't drink but Dan has a poem in this book and we are pretty excited about it.
I can't wait to get my hands on a copy.

Happy Poetry Tuesday Dear Friends

It's Business Time

Happy Weekend Wishes Dear Friends

I'm starting Weight Watchers this week.
If any of you are interested in jumping on the weight loss wagon with me, leave me a comment with your email address.
I'm going to keep a private blog where we can share our weight loss secrets.

I found this "Make A Wish" print via Poppytalk.
It will be my first "motivational" purchase (for my next kitchen) after I loose my first 3 pounds.
I need my treats.

I'm going on a new adventure.
Please, cheer me on.

Charity Hope Valentine, I Adore You.

Today I watched Sweet Charity for the first time.
I love Shirley MacLaine.
She is so full of sass and I love ladies who are full of sass.
Lookie here, she's adorable.

My advice for today, if you're feeling down, count on your sisters in sass for a perk me up.
You're real ones and the movie versions you wish you knew.
Turn one of them on and sing and dance your mood away.
It works for me.

I Find It Hard That You Don't Know The Beauty You Are

One of my favorite songs to perk up your Wednesday.
Give yourself a moment, take a break, get a beverage, and relax.
You are Beautiful.

I'm still proud of my Dr. Dan

It has been a year since Dan graduated.
Things haven't worked out the way we thought they would.
Maybe they will eventually be better than we imagined they could be.
I do know this, I wouldn't change a thing.

This made me giggle today...

"I'm sick of following my dreams.
I'm just going to ask them where they're going
and hook up with them later."

-Mitch Hedberg

"Raccoons and cats become a little boring." -Edie

Last weekend, this little raccoon came to visit us in our backyard.
I love these little creatures with their bandit masks and striped tails.
I know they are not known for being friendly but I like to pretend that they are sweet and loving like the one's Snow White knew.
I can totally understand why the Beale's fed their raccoon tenants.

I found this snapshot at an estate sale a few weeks ago.
These raccoons aren't as cute as the one who came to visit us.
They look like they could be trouble.
I take that back, they just need a sandwich.

I've had people in my past call me "trouble."
"Hey, Miss Trouble" or "Here comes trouble."
"You look like trouble."

I think that's rude, so there.

p.s. We have a really cute raccoon for sale in our shop.

Fifty Birthday Wishes

Dear Bono,
Happy 50th Birthday.

p.s. My favorite U2 song is With or Without You.  It makes me want to give Kitty kisses.

Where O' Where Is My Two Legg-ed Mommy?

Happy Mother's Day Mommy and friend's who are Mommies.
I hope your day has been full of "me" time and special moments.

I'm looking forward to the day when I can be a Mommy.
Many days (when I am freaking out about my upcoming 35th birthday) I think it will never happen.
Then I remind myself that "we" are all on on our own time schedule.
I will tell you this, when they announced that they were giving out Mother's Day treats to the Mother's at church, I felt a little bad.
Then, they gave me a treat anyway, maybe the teenage boy didn't know that I wasn't a Mommy yet.
I still felt special.

Mother's Of The World,

You amaze me!

Treasure Hunt Show and Tell

I've decided to dedicate Saturdays on this here blog as my Treasure Hunt Show and Tell Day.
We spend our Fridays out and about treasure hunting.
This little glitter birdie had to be mine, it just might fulfill my fantasy of owning Dorothy's ruby red slippers.

These dainty plates may end up in my tea party collection or in the shop

These prints will be in the shop soon but I think I will frame them.
They are perfect for a nursery, don't you think?
I also found lots of goodies for care packages.
But they are top secret!

Happy Saturday

p.s. It's yard sale season, did you find anything?

Miss Foxy, Where Have You Been Hiding?

We watched the movie Nine tonight.
I loved it.
The costumes and singing and dancing were so beautiful.

I found this older (2008'ish) photo of myself.
I kind of love it too.

Happy Weekend Dear Friends
I hope you do something special for yourself that makes you feel pretty.
You deserve some "me" time.

How I'm Dealing With Being Down In The Dumps

Dear Friends,
I have down in the dumps for a while now.
I don't like to talk about it on my blog because it is my happy place.
But, I thought I'd share one of the things I am doing to help with my depression.
This is the from the guest post I did on Post Grad Hair Cut yesterday.

When I am feeling down my favorite thing to do to perk myself up is to make a care package for a friend.
My goal is to put all of my energy into that friend and making "happy mail" that will make her day.
The most important thing to remember when making a care package is to never expect anything in return.
A true care package (one that helps you heal) is a gift of love.

Here are my tips for making a lovely care package.

-Pick yourself up and decide who you want to make feel special.
-Get out of your house and go somewhere local to pick up a gift.
(The town I live in has a chocolate factory so I like to go and pick up some bumble bee chocolates).
-Next go to your local shop (I go to Target) pick up a treat (for you to sip on) and shop with your friend in mind.
(Remember: this act of love is not about spending a lot of money, it is about sending happy thoughts out into the world).
-Now take yourself home and put on your comfies, put a pretty movie on, and spread out all of your goodies and take a good look at them.
-This is the fun part.  Start personalizing your pretties.  Grab some treasure (I have a vintage shop and I go to estate sales every Friday to find items for my shop, my home, and my friends).
-Then get out all of your packing supplies and stationary and get to making everything look like a million bucks.  It's all about presentation.
-Write a sweet note, it will make your heart happy.
-Lastly, go to the Post Office and send that package full of happy feelings out into the world.  I promise you will feel like a superstar.

I'm up to my ears in Care Package Goodness over here.
So here's the deal, tell me about a care package you received and how it made you feel and the winner will get some Fritzi Marie surprise mail.

Horray for friends and Happy Mail.

I Feel Pretty Enough To Host A Giveaway

I've been reading my new book and I feel prettier already.

Oh, I did a guest blog post on Samantha's blog, Post Grad Hair Cut.
You should check it out, I talk about my thoughts on making the prefect care package and it includes a giveaway.

Who doesn't love receiving a care package?

It's Been a Year

It has been close to a year since we moved to Washington.
So many things have changed but one thing has not.
I love this man more and more each day.

I want to tell you how much you mean to me too.
I'm in a sentimental mood so bear with me.
This year has been so hard and this blog and all of you associated with it have helped me through some difficult times.
For that, I am yours.

I am here for you always.

National Poetry Month Spaghetti Recipe

Our dear friend Alena invited us over for a National Poetry Month party last week and she served us some dang good spaghetti.
She hooked us up with her super simple recipe.

Alena's National Poetry Month Spaghetti Recipe
(in her own words)

1. Lot Lot Lot O' Onion- sprinkle with generous salt and sugar, cook until yellow.
2. Lot Lot Lot O' Garlic, course chop and add to onion, do not let them brown.
3. Add ground turkey- season with salt and pepper, cook till brown (you can drain some fat but I like to keep some in).
4. Add whatever sauce you want, canned tomatoes/fresh skinned cooked tomatoes/or pre-made pasta sauce.
5. Season heavily with basil, dried and fresh, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes.
6. Simmer until onions break down.

Speaking of spaghetti, we found some classic Disney books while treasure hunting a few weeks ago.
Lady will be in the shop soon.

I can't wait to eat dinner tonight.
The spaghetti sauce is on the stove and it smells GOOD.

Happy Sunday Night Dear Friends

Our First Date Revisited

Many Full Moons Later

Daniel took me out to recreate our first date for our "big date" yesturday.

We went to Pike Place Market.
Where he held my hand for the first time, five plus years ago.

We salivated over huge artichokes.
I had a veggie gyro and Dan had a BBQ Pork hum bow.

Those lobster tails were calling out to me.
I love seafood.

We bought Dan some new boots at our favorite store, John Fluevog.
Oh, and you can see my new ring from Favor by Monica Reed.
It's the thin gold one in the middle.
Did I ever tell you that Daniel and his buddy Craig made my engagement ring out of vintage silver coins?
The other one is my Dad CJ's mother's wedding ring.

We had to stop and get some chowder and seafood bisque from The Athenian.

Daniel bought me some pretty flowers.
I kissed him on the cheek.

It was a lovely afternoon.
It almost made me get butterflies in my tummy again.
Oh, how I had tummy butterflies when Dan first held my hand.

p.s. Do you have a first date that you would like to share.
I love when you tell me stories.

I Just HAD to have it.

Molly, I Adore YOU.

Okay, I am about to admit something to you.
I love Molly Ringwald.
When I was in high school, I wanted to be her.
The Pretty In Pink version of her.

I just found out about her new book, Getting the Pretty Back.
Oh, Molly...please help me get my pretty back.

Dan just ordered my new "go to" book and I am so anxious to get it.
I just couldn't hold it in.

Sweet Dreams,
