Tis' The Night

Bono Baby has been so excited about tonight.
He is looking forward to meeting the trick-or-treaters.
He wanted me to tell you all that he hopes you have a super fun night.
He also wanted to show off his spooky jammies.

The first sales from Fritzi Marie are about to go in the mail.
I've been having so much fun putting them together.
Thank you all for being so lovely and supportive.

Shop Announcement:
Fritzi Marie Is Finally Open

Dear Friends,

I've been talking about opening my Etsy shop for a long long time.
The day has finally come.
I'm nervous and asking you to be patient with me, I'm still learning.

The good news is that I started collecting for this little shop two years ago and a lot of treasures are waiting (in our storage unit) to find homes.

For now, I'm sharing Washington and California goodies.
I hope they make you happy.
We love our adventure hunts, they make us happy.

love and hugs,

p.s. We'll be updating the shop all weekend

and

The first sales will get a special Kat and Dan (surprise) treat.

"Tomorrow is always fresh with no mistakes in it."
-Anne Shirley

I'm adjusting to the Seattle weather.
What I really want to do is curl up with my boys and watch Anne of Green Gables.

What movie do you feel like curling up with on a rainy day?

I had to retire my favorite pair of shoes.
The soles split and I couldn't figure out why my socks were wet at the end of the day.
Now, I have a cold.

Thankfully I like good shoes that last a long time.
These one's lasted nine years and the same pair I had before them lasted eight years.
I wonder how long my next pair will last.
Maybe I'll polish them and they'll last ten years.
We shall see.

hugs,
Fritzi Marie

Weekend Treasure Hunt Goodies

Most of our finds this weekend were for Daniel.
He found an English major's yard sale.
Books make Dan a happy boy.

Did you do anything exciting this weekend?

p.s. The Etsy shop should be up and running by the end of the week.
That's the plan.

"You Should Have Worn A Costume"
-Little Edie

I finally watched HBO's Grey Gardens last night.
It was wonderful.
If you're a fan of the documentary Grey Gardens or Drew Barrymore you should see it.
If you don't know what I'm talking about then see the original Grey Gardens.
I promiss, you won't be disappointed.

10 Things About Me

1. My favorite song is "Melt With You" by Modern English.

2. I have a crush on Adam from Man vs. Food. It's his little boy eyes. Plus, he reminds me of John Goodman whom I LOVE.

3. I love to go to Denny's. I like the comfort food and the free Diet Coke refills while I sit for long periods of time and write lists on napkins.

4. I didn't get my drivers license until I turned twenty five. It felt like too much responsibility.

5. During my freshman year in high school, I started collecting vintage hats and purses. I sold them when I was nineteen and I've regretted it ever since.

6. The first concert I ever went to was at Dodgers Stadium. I saw The Cure, Love and Rockets and The Pixies. I was thirteen and I wore a tie dye t-shirt and felt like a dork.

7. One of my most cherished possessions is a plate that was brought across the plains in a handcart. It survived a house fire, and the long trek from England. I sometimes wonder why my ancestors thought it was so important. I adore it.

8. I was a termite inspector for a short while, an Orkin lady. I loved it because I felt like I was going on archaeological digs every time I shimmied into the crawl space of a customer's house. This is gross but once I found a mummified cat under a house. I took it and wrapped it up in a blanket and put it in my trunk. I was going to share it with my family, it seemed so educational and interesting to me. I went to Hollywood to see Sleater-Kinney that night. I worried all night that I would get pulled over with a mummified cat in my trunk.

9. I am very particular about communication. I think thank you notes are the most lovely little gesture. I don't like calling people on the phone; I feel like I am intruding. But I do like talking on the phone to friends, if they call. If I'm down in the dumps, I don't answer the phone. I love to have one-on-one time with friends. I tend to be quiet in groups.

10. One of my favorite places to visit is Multnomah Falls. My Grandfather would hike up to the top when he was a young boy and sit on a big rock. My parents would take us there when we were young and I desperately wanted to find that big rock at the top of the falls. I had asthma and I could never make it. Dan took me there on our honeymoon and I made it to the top. I've never been so happy or proud of myself.

Thanks for tagging me Lindsey.

Fritzi Marie
Pat Me On The Back

Guess what friends, I wore a pair of my wedding time jeans out in public today.
I have three pairs of jeans that were altered to fit me perfectly.
To fit the smaller (getting married) sized me, of April 2006.
The smallest I have ever been in my adult life.

I haven't been able to get them over my bum since October of 2006.
I am so super excited.
I still need to loose about 10 pounds to feel like I look good in them.
But I'm ready to celebrate.

Fritzi Marie

The Sweet Life

Last night Bono and I watched La Dolce Vita.
I think everyone should see it, at least once.

Have you seen any good movies lately?

Treasure Hunt Finds From This Weekend

Well, we found some treasure this weekend.
I fell in love with this little mushroom.
I'm going to keep it.
If we ever have a daughter, it will sit in her room.

Everything else will be going up for sale in my Etsy shop that I'm working on.

I think the coolest thing about opening my shop is that I only pick things I would want.
That way, I get to keep them if nobody wants to buy them.

I think that's pretty smart.

We did have a good treasure hunt weekend.
The hunt always cheers me up.

I love finding treasure.

p.s. My Mommy had a yard sale this weekend.
It was a huge success.
I wish I could have been there.
Driving Miss Kitty

Daniel drove me to Yakima, Washington so that I could attend my dear friend Melissa's baby shower. Melissa and I met in Mississippi. She is one of my dearest friends and seeing her helped me to feel so much better and stronger.

Daniel and Roger went bowling with the menfolk.

Dan has sore muscles from bowling so hard.
I ate carbs at the shower and I'm kicking myself now.

It was worth it though. Not only did I get to hang out with Melissa, but I also got to see Pretty Bonnie.

Yakima is a pretty cool place.
I loved all the old signs.

I am so thankful for the time I had in Mississippi.
I made amazing friends.

It was a lovely trip to Yakima.

We came home to find Mr Bono Baby, all cuddly warm, waiting in bed for us.

We went on a grand adventure.

I picked my first pumpkin.

Like, from the ground.

It was the best day.

Let's Share

I made you some cookies.
Why? Because you are all so wonderful and you mean the world to me.
Thank you so much for the love and kindness you send my way.
I wish I could invite you all over for cookies and herbal tea.
Instead, go make some cookies this weekend and think of your friend, cheering you on.

Get a box of spice cake mix and combine it with a 15 oz can of pumpkin goodness.
Blend it together with some chocolate chips.
Then bake it at 350 for 10 to 12 minutes.

Happy Weekend Wishes Dear Friends

love,
Fritzi Marie
also known as Kat or Kitty or Kathryn or Kathy (to a very few)

p.s. I've been working on being happier. Today: treasure hunting, waxing, and a new hair do helped me along the way. Oh, so did my new set of hot rollers.
I may even roll my hair and see what happens.
Again, thank you for being my friends and helping me out.
Aren't we all a work in progress?

My Leaves Are Falling

I'm in the midst of a mini breakdown.
I need MY season to change.
I need a fresh start.

I'm fragile right now so I'm finding refuge in the beauty of fall in Washington.

We all have so many challenges, so many times of weakness.
Let's do all that we can to support one another.

Let's walk hand in hand and look up at the leaves.
The beautiful fall trees will take all of our worries away.

Take A Walk With Us?

Dear Friends,
Fall is beautiful in the Pacific Northwest.
I am loving it.

Look at how happy I look.

I get to chill with my Mommy for three more days.
We are having so much fun.

Daniel is so handsome.

I love that he finds furry caterpillars and that they match his beard and his jacket.

Bono Baby met a little girl pug who he was really interested in.
She wasn't too into him.
I think his ego was bruised when she turned around to chase after a bigger doggie.

Fritzi Marie

Treasure Hunt Friday

We found many treasures today.
Some of them will be gifts, some of them will be re purposed, and some of them may make it into my future Etsy shop.
Oh, how I love collecting for my future Etsy shop.
Finding treasure makes me so happy.
