Out On The Town
My new "to me" suitcase went on an adventure this morning.
My Dad CJ gave me this treasure and I LOVE it.
Every time I look at it, I think of my cute little Dad CJ.
Happy Tuesday Dear Friends

Bono Crinkles

Check out these Bono Crinkles that Dan and Dad Morris made tonight.
More info on Pretty Amy's Chemistry of Cooking blog.
Delish.
Sunday Afternoon Adventure Drive

Our little adventure took us to the Issaquah Train Depot where we had our wedding reception 3 years ago.

I wore my Jack and Janet dress. I named it that because this dress is the dress I wore to my Aunt Janet and Uncle Jack's 50th wedding anniversary party. Favorite Fluevogs make any outfit prettier in my opinion.

Dan is the cutest.
He always puts on this tough guy face. But he smiled in one of the photo's, I'll have to share it later.
love you,
Kitty

Happy Weekend Kitties

I feel a little bit more like this today.
Things feel like they are on the up and up.
Keep your fingers crossed for us.
Let's all go out and make wishes.
We all deserve happy endings/beginnings.

I had to share this. It's one of my favorite movie scenes.
"It aint fair!"
love and hugs,

Favorite Places: Monrovia, California

Bono and I are feeling a bit nostalgic. We are missing our Monrovia.
Bono and I both grew up in Monrovia, California.
We think there is nothing better than going home.

Monrovia is full of hidden treasures and girlhood secrets.

We wish we could hop into our flying Hot Rod and make a quick weekend visit.
We miss you, Monrovia.
p.s. Where would you go if your had a flying Hot Rod to whisk you away for the weekend?

Dance With Me

This Nouvelle Vague video always makes me happy and I wanted to share it with you.
I think Nouvelle Vague and Bande a part are like "magic".

I've been catching up on my movie watching this week.
Two of the films really struck a nerve.
Home and Phoebe in Wonderland were both very touching films.
They were both about the bond a Mother and Daughter share.
These films made me think of my Mother and how she has given up so much for me.

I hope to be a Mother just like her one day

xoxo

It's The Little Things

My Daniel is my best friend.
I watched him in 7-11 last night and I was reminded once again that I married the perfect man.
Bono and I were waiting in the car for Dan while he was getting me a caffeine free Diet Coke (I've been off the good stuff for over two months). When he realized that my beverage was out he told the nice little man who was working there and then I saw them both go in the back room. A few minutes later, Dan appeared with my soda.
The nice little man didn't know how to change the soda so Dan taught him how.
It was so cute to watch the transaction from the truck.
They smiled at one another and Dan thanked the cute little man.
Kitty's soda was on him.
I love the little things that happen everyday with my Daniel.

A Day In The Life...
-guest post by Bono-Baby

Today was the BEST. My Kat and Dan woke me up early and took me on a walk about.

I was so excited.
We walked over a bridge and my Kat and Dan helped me look over and see what I was walking over.

I walked over water. My Kat told me that I was walking over a creek.
She is so smart and so pretty.

Then we walked through a small grove of cherry tree's.

My Kitty let me smell one.

Later, after I was all walked out (my legs are short), my Kat and Dan let me take a nap.
I dreamt of cherries and

my new lady-friend who lives across the street.
She is nice but not as nice as my Kitty.

Bono kisses to all,
Bono-Baby

I would say my vanity is pretty limited.
-Julie Delpy

Well, I'm coming out of my funk.
I've decided to start planning my birthday party for next year.
Turning 34 seems depressing to me right now, but turning 35 (in a year) sounds super exciting and party worthy.
I'm thinking a picnic and croquet game with friends sounds perfect. I will wear a pretty summer dress and carry a parasol for pizazz.
We will have to have lots of sparklers to celebrate such a big birthday.
Happy Monday Dear Friends.
p.s. I'm on the hunt for a book to get lost in.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

Horray for Daddy's

Happy Father's Day to the men in my world.
I feel like the luckiest girl to be so loved.
Thank you for being so special to me.
Special shout out to DAN, Dad CJ, Dad Morris, and Benner.
I love you all so very much.

Baby, You Knock Me Out

I recently told a friend that blogging was a way to fight off a funk.
I'm working on following my own advice.

So, my cure for fighting off a funk goes like this:

Watch some Gene Kelly movies.
This scene always works for me.
(Watch the whole clip, it's magic)

Get out of the house.
If you're in the funk, you're probably spending most of your day in bed.
This is the worst thing you could do, open your windows and go out.

Start calling your friends and family again.
(I'm not there yet but I'm working on it)

Get a project and make it a priority.

Fake it.

That's all I have for now.
Be patient with me, dear friends, I'm taking baby steps.
xoxo

I'm taking a mini break from my blog.
I have too many things going on and I need some time to hideout.
I'll be back soon.

Hot Date Wednesday

Dan took me on a date today.
We went to see Away We Go.
It was the perfect movie for us, right now.
If you're in your 30's and unsure of pretty much everything, then I think you will probably relate.
We went to The Frye Art Museum too.
We were able to see some of our favorites from the permanent collection and an exhibit on puppets.
It was nice to go out and forget about our worries for a few hours.
Bono was happy to see us when we came home.
He chilled in his chair and napped the day away.
hugs

Summertime Treats

My favorite thing about summer is a good Big Stick and a box of Otter Pops.
Both of which were not available in Mississippi.
Well, my favorite popsicle's (from my youth in California) are available in Washington.
Oh, happy day.
What is your favorite summertime treat?

Tuesday Updates

Dan found us a new barbershop and they cut my bangs just right.

My sister Annie Bannie's boyfriend Matt helped catch a robber who was trapped in a storm drain.
Bono had a run-in with a furry caterpillar and a bumble bee.

p.s. This photo makes me laugh. The camera caught me mid-sass.

Help A Friend Out

I love birthdays. I love my birthday and everyone else's birthday.

Problem is, my calendar is stuffed into our storage unit and I am out of the birthday loop.
So, here is a shout out to my June Birthday Friends (the one's I can remember).

Happy Birthday:
Jared B.
Sarah-Friend
Matt
Dad CJ
Lindsey? (Happy May Birthday)
Baby Ike

p.s. Make a Wish June Babies.

Invites Will Be In The Mail In 7 Years

Adam and Halli's circus-themed wedding photo's are everywhere right now. I'm in LOVE.
I've decided that I want our 10 year anniversary (which won't be for another 7 years) to be like this, but smaller scale of course.

I love everything about it.
Hopefully the circus craze will be fading in 7 years and we won't look too trendy.
Plus, how cute would mini Kat and mini Dan look dressed up like circus goers from the 1930's?
So keep an eye out for your invite.

I wonder who I could talk into manning the kissing booth?

Lucky In Love

I love my boys.
That's all.

Happy Birthday Dad CJ

I wish we could be with you to give you lots of birthday hugs.
We LOVE you.
xoxo,
Katty, Daniel, and Baby Bono

Weekend Wishes To YOU, and YOU, and YOU, and YOU.

We have big plans for this weekend.
We plan to watch Gone With The Wind.
I'm going to read my book.
We have a shin dig to go to tonight at a friend's house.
I think we're going to make bread.
We have plans for a slumber party on the deck with little Bono (and the fat squirrels and stellar jays).
We get to meet up with friends for lunch in Seattle tomorrow.
I have high hopes for this weekend.
I'm looking forward to trips to the park with Dan and Bono most of all.
Happy Weekend Friends
Hey, what are you guys up to this weekend?
I'm nosey.

Otter, Come Live With Me In My Treehouse.

When an otter is like music in a special on TV
and not a whiskered stranger you have met.
-Kim Stafford
check it on KUOW

My favorite animal list goes like this. Baby Bono is my favorite animal in the whole world. But my second choice is the OTTER.
Dan's favorite animal is the CAT. He says any kind of cat is up his alley (including me).
I think the favorite animal question is very telling.
Do any of you feel like sharing your favorite animal with us?
hugs
p.s. I have big dreams of one day having a treehouse to use as my getaway/art/project room.
Dan shared this article on treehouses with me and I'm itching to get this book.
I know, I know, we probably should get a house first.
Our Happy Little Family

Today we went to BurgerMaster because Dan needed a treat. I liked that it was a drive-in but I still love my grilled cheese from In-N-Out better. Just sayin'.

Then we went to the park. We played hard.

Bono made friends with some other puppies. This is a BIG deal for Mr. Bono.
This may mean that he can meet Bug and Rizzo soon.
We can't wait for that to happen.

Sorry about the Bono-centric blog posts as of late.
I think he is about the cutest thing EVER.
We're so happy to have a little one to ooh and aah over.
These are our "I'm sorry, but not really" facial expressions.
xoxo

I Fell In LOVE With Him Over Fish And Chips

On our first date, Dan took me to Ivar's. You see, I fell in love with Seattle and my Daniel at the same time. Our story on how we met is rather lengthy and full of crossed path's but we did finally meet and we spent our courtship on the phone and in Seattle and Los Angeles.

This birdie was mean. I don't like feeding the mean birds ( I do anyway) but it seems like they are just greedy and awful. I think the cute, nice one's are more deserving of my french fries. I don't really get why they want french fries, don't they know that french fries are the devil's starchy fingers?

I love that we have this summer to reenact our first dates.
Here's to first kisses under full moons.
xoxo

p.s. This was our first photo together. I'm reminiscing.

Downer Sally No More

I knew my downer Sally day was over when I found this pine cone shaped like a pretty rose.
I'm saving it for my Mommy.
I think she will treasure it.

Dan took us to one of our favorite places. Snoqualmie Falls is the perfect place to go on a sunny Washington afternoon.

Poor little Baby Bono had to wait in the car (NO CUTE PUPPIES ALLOWED) so we took a quick peak at the falls. I love feeling the mist on my face. Free Evian-like face spray is always a nice treat.

We were having so much fun. Then we hurried back to the truck and Baby Bono.
Then Dan realized he left the keys in the truck. Not good.

Thank goodness for AAA and patient Bono.
I think he is smirking at us.

He was only in the car for 20 minutes but we were so happy to have him out safe and sound.
p.s. The windows and sun-roof were cracked and he had water.

Since Baby Bono was such a patient puppy during our ordeal, we let him rub up against all kinds of smells and other what nots.
He is taking a bath tonight for sure.

We stopped to see the Twin Peaks tree and play on the train tracks.

I love my two boys so much.
They can make any Downer Sally day a Happy Kitty day.
xoxo
"Not everything is a mermaid that dives into the water."

Today I'm a downer Sally. All I want to do with my life (today) is be a mermaid.
Why not?
My wish for the day is, I wish I had a crescent moon shaped boat to float around in.

Don't worry Dan is going to get me out of the house.
My mermaid fantasies will hopefully pass.
xoxo
