Play date Saturday

We managed to finagle a play date with Oreo Blast Hinton today.

Please, can Oreo come out to play with me?
-Kitty

It worked out well because we were able to see two of our favorite kiddies as well. Kallee and Kru are the proud new owner's of the stowaway puppies.

Oreo came over for some happy times in our front yard.

Then he got to be the center of attention in an impromptu photo shoot.

He then was able to run around and smell all of the corners in our little dollhouse.

We thought he was the most polite and pleasant house guest. So we took him on a nice leisurely walk.

We walked and leisured. Oreo made some friends and we we're so happy to have a little buddy to kick it with.

Isn't he precious?

Then we took him home to his "people" and found the most delightful surprise. Kallee Grace and Kru were out playing with their new puppies. They are working on the new names for the former stowaways.
What a lovely day.

Sweet Coraline

I can't wait to meet you.
p.s. This little cutie reminds me of my Bonnie and Melissa friends.

We also have some stowaways over here in our little dollhouse. They are going to their new home tomorrow. I think they are adorable and I wish they were real.

Valentines Day is quickly approaching. I love love love a day about LOVE. I've been decorating a little. Not too much because February isn't quite here yet. But, I put up this little bit of doilie goodness on our mantel.

My favorite part about it is that it includes a couple of Auntie Alma's boyfriends. Auntie Alma gave me photos of her old boyfriends for Christmas this year. I have grand plans for them. But for now, they are up for show and tell.

This guy is my favorite. He reminds me of Alan Cumming in Circle of Friends.

I am so fascinated with these photo's. I wonder what happened to these men. Are they still alive? Why did Auntie Alma break up with all of them? Where did their lives lead them?

February is such a special time for me. It's a time to let my husband, family and friends know how much I love and appreciate them. It's a time to reflect and remember those whom we have loved in the past. I wish all of you the best February ever.
I feel so thankful to have so much love in my life.

Luck be a lady

Most of you know I love my Gilmore Girls. We spend some time with them nearly every night. I also have a thing for old movies. One of my favorites is Guys and Dolls.

Well, Lorelai (Lauren Graham) is in a production of Guys and Dolls in New York City and I wish I could go.

If you're a Lorelai fan, check out this article. Thankfully a friend sent it to us. The fans stick together.
We love you Lorelai Gilmore.
Happy Birthday Tyler

Tyler, we hope your year is full of robots, Star Wars, Subway sandwiches, juice, Mad Libs, Disneyland adventures and lots of good times. You are the coolest.

We love you,

Uncle Dan and Auntie Kat

I've been going on a number of movie dates with the YW. We saw Bride Wars and it made me miss my girlfriends. Then yesterday we saw Marley and Me. My lovely date told me that she didn't think I would be able to handle it, because they all know I'm a puppy lover. Well, she was 100 percent correct. I cried like a baby and I can't stop thinking about it.

When I was young I had a cat named Alice. She was an outdoor cat (because I'm seriously allergic to kitties) but I loved her. She was a beautiful grey cat like this one in the adorable teacup.
When I was 8'ish my Uncle Rod brought Remington "Rags" to live with us. He was the most amazing golden retriever and I loved him so. He was always there for me. I remember crying and crying over who knows what (in high school) and Rags would sit with me and put his head on my knee. His story was a lot like Marley's. He ran away one Christmas Eve night. A veterinarian found him and cared for him. She put posters up and Rags came home but wasn't the same. When I went to work in Alaska my Dad had to put Rags to sleep and I didn't get to say goodbye to him.

This movie made me super sad because the thought of ever loosing my Baby Bono makes me, well, really unhappy. I love this little man more than anything. You all know that. He knows me like no one else and being away from him for these past few years have been so hard for me.
Bono, I miss you.
I love you so much.

I wish I could move into this painting.

Like in the movie What Dreams May Come. Remember that one?

Instead, I live in this one. If you look real close you'll see a surprise. That's right, a Heron. A Heron in Mississippi camouflage, I say. I'm not sure if it's a Tri-colored Heron or a Great Blue Heron but it was a bird sighting for sure.

I tried to get a closer look but this Heron was camera shy. Don't worry I wasn't harassing the poor thing, I was in my car and I was friendly.

Dan was even friendlier. Dan loves all creatures. He (Daniel) is my favorite creature. Well, he's up there with Baby Bono for sure.

99 pretty dresses, floating in the summer sky

Oh, the dress dilemma is oh so time consuming. Dan wishes he only had dress options to stress about.

I'm liking both of these dresses for graduation. I think I like the idea of buying ALL of the dresses and wearing them everyday. But, the search is on and I love it.

I got my phone all charged and I'm ready to burn some minutes.

This "Chatty Kathy" hasn't been so chatty lately. I've decided that this weekend is THE weekend to make some important phone calls. So, dear friends, you know who you are. I know that you know that I haven't called you back yet. But, the call is coming and I will be ready to chat, chat, chat. I can't wait.
hugs
Happy Birthday Dad

We hope you had a super fun birthday.

We are so thankful for all that you do for us and the family.
We love you so very much.
Happy Birthday.
Dandelions from Dandy Dan

Dan picked me some dandelions and surprised me with them after he took the trash out to the curb. He is the cutest husband ever.

So today is Dandelion day.
Make a wish.

Surprise visit from Hello Kitty

I took a long nap today (shrimp and grit's day at work was super busy and made me oh so tired) and I woke up to a surprise visit from the YW. I have mixed emotions about announcing this but I'm not in YW's anymore. Our time here in Mississippi just keeps getting closer and closer. Melanie made me a Hello Kitty cake (I love that they know how much I love Hello Kitty). They also gave me lovely thank you note's. My favorite was from Ariel, she drew me a picture.

I feel so lucky to have met these amazing young ladies (and the ones who aren't in the photo too) and been able to be part of their lives. They have uplifted me and helped me to be a better person. I will love them forever.
Netflix Puppeteer

I'm in charge of the Netflix movies for a while. Exciting. Last night I stayed up way too late watching, The Mayor of Casterbridge. Captain Wentworth (aka Ciaran Hinds) is in it. I LOVE him. Anyhow, you must see it. Well, if you're into these types of movies you should.
Also,
Masterpiece Theatre has been airing a version of Wuthering Heights that is quite racy and fun to watch. It's not the original but it's enjoyable for sure.
The original was one of my favorite movies to watch in my Daddy's office. It takes me back to those special times every time I watch it.
Well, I wish my Netflix Puppeteer gig meant that I could make Mad Men Season 2 come out sooner but I can't ask for too much.

Instead, I plan to think of Joan everytime I'm tempted to eat a cookie at work.

My Mother, The Queen.

My Auntie Alma gave me old photo's for Christmas. She heard that I was collecting old black and white photo's of ladies in swimsuits (or any old photo's for that matter). I can't wait to hang some in my bathroom. She was, and still is, a fox. Anyhow, she also found this one of my Mother. She was the Farm Bureau Queen in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, in 1963.
The back of the photo reads,
"This is Shirley on the stage. She doesn't like it but it will give you and Lillie both an idea where she was when she tripped on a board just as Carol took picture. "
Yours to keep Alma.
-Grandma McLard

My Mommy gave me this white vanity case as a Christmas gift. She told me the story about how it was presented to her when she was crowned as the Farm Bureau Queen. They also gave her a red wallet and the tiara that she had to give to the next queen the following year. I was so thrilled when I realized that my two Christmas treasures carried so much familial history.

While I was home I read a lot of my Mommy's magazines. She had the O at Home magazine and I fell in love with this mantel. I did a cheese ball job of scanning the photo but I know you're all still cool with me (I hope). I really like how they painted the suitcases but I don't think I would ever be able to do that to such beautiful finds.

When I was in my closet taking photo's this morning I decided to take a photo of this for you. My Daddy gave me this photo of my Great Grandmother Bradshaw. He thought I looked like her. What do you think?

p.s. Here is Auntie Alma looking pretty foxy.
