Pin Ups of Bono Baby

Bono Baby was so happy to see me put on jeans instead of dress up work clothes today.
He put on a little show for me and let me catch some of it on film.
I mean really, how cute is this little guy?

p.s. He wanted me to tell all of you that he loves you very much.
Oh, and he misses a few of you too.

Kitty and Bono Baby
"I Know Something You Don't Know"

My Daddy would always start humming "I know something you don't know" around this time of year. Christmas was on it's way, with all of it's surprises and special moments. We started off the season by watching A Miracle on 34th Street. It seemed fitting since I'm working at Macy's right now. It brought back so many memories.

When I was young my Grandmother Holling would take me to department store in Pasadena (it is now Macy's on Lake). She would make me a Christmas dress and buy me a new pair of Mary Jane's. We would get our photo taken with Santa and then she would take me to lunch at the department store cafe. I thought she was the most fashionable, fancy lady ever.
She made the coat I'm wearing in this photo.

Watching A Miracle on 34th Street also reminded me of my Grandfather Holling.
Every year, he would dress up in his velvet Santa suit and come to our home on Christmas Eve.
One year he/my Santa brought me a Mighty Mouse game.

Christmas is a time for memories and tradition.
I LOVE Christmas.

Enjoy the buildup.

humming: "I know something you don't know."

In The Wee Small Hours Of The Morning

We are full from Thanksgiving dinner and Bono and I are getting ready to go to bed.
Early...because I will be heading into work at 4:50 in the am for my first Black Friday experience.
Wish me luck.

Bono is going to bed early because his little tummy is full of turkey and mashed taters and he is sleepy.

I hope your day was lovely.

I'm sending you all my love and best wishes.
I am so blessed to have a wonderful family and great friends.
My family is almost all gathered together in California.
I wish I could have been there with you.

Instead, I went on a hunt for a photo of me at home, in our lovely yard, during my favorite time of year.
The time of year when the tree's change colors in Southern California.

I love you all,

Fritzi Marie

p.s. Thank you for all of the great feedback and advice about my new earrings.
You are all so very helpful.
I'll let you know when I wear them.

Family Togetherness Monday

We have family in town.

We LOVE our family so much.
We wish we could be with all of them all of the time.

We have been bonding over XXX Root Beer, Boehm's Chocolate and trips to the Falls.

Nicole and Tyler are the cutest niece and nephew ever.

As much as I wish we could be with my family in California, I'm thankful to have my family in Washington to celebrate Thanksgiving with. This will be our first Thanksgiving with family in three years.

Oh, by the way, I picked up a ladybug and bumble bee chocolate to share with you.
I wish I could make you all a care package full of ladybug and bumble bee goodness.
Pretend I did.

It's The Little Things

One of my favorite things to do everyday is my special walk with Bono Baby.
This morning we had more time to linger about.
I wanted to share with you one of my favorite things about where I live.
I love moss.

Do you have something that you love about where you live?

Go outside and check.

Can I Get Away With Wearing These?

One of my dearest friends is named Amy.
We were best buddies in the 9th grade.
She was had huge hair, wore tight skirts, and always big earrings.
I didn't get my ears pierced until I was 19 and I always envied Amy and her ability to wear huge earrings.
I saw these earrings for a steal at work and I had to have them.
They make me feel like Amy.

Do you think I can get away with them?

I haven't worn them out in public yet.
I'll wait to see what you think.

Thank you,

Fritzi Marie

My Answer is YES.

Dear Dan,

I just opened your email. You know, the one where you introduced me to this movie, Letters to Juliet. You asked me if I wanted you to take me and my answer is YES.

You so know me.

I love you,

Treasure Hunt Finds

I had today off from work so we went treasure hunting. We found these duck bookends.
Perfect for my Dan's collection of books.

I fell in love with this record.

She is so beautiful.

This glass features Silver Creek Falls in Oregon.
I hope to visit the falls soon.
Now I have a reason.

This little girl dress had to come home with me.

Then this vintage paper tablecloth. Wouldn't it be perfect for a children's table at Christmas?

Did you find any treasure this week?

p.s. I also found some crazy earrings (on sale at work), I'll show you a photo of them soon.
They are way out of character for me.
How FUN!

It Must Be A Sign

Bono Baby and I were on a walk this morning and we watched geese fly overhead.
I'm thinking that is a sign of good luck for sure.
They were even talking to us.
Bono talked back.

Happy Weekend Wishes Dear Friends

Kitty Tooth Fairy

My life is so crazy busy right now. Strange, since my life was so not busy two weeks ago.
Today is my day off from work and it has been chock full of Etsy shop goodness and errand running.
Don't tell anyone but I'd rather be busy than bored any day.

Daniel is having a new crown put in.
Thankfully he was able to commission our friend Craig to make it.
He jazzed it up with a Kitty tooth tattoo to boot.
How fun?

In other news, I was given a pile of friends and family coupons for Macy's.
25% off on most items in the store.
That means you can use them to buy a new watch or a new handbag.
Usually their coupons don't apply to such items.
I digress, point is, if you want one let me know.
I'd love to share them with you.

hugs, hugs, and more hugs,

Happy Happy

Today this photo makes me happy.
Dan looks so very serious.

My walks with "the boys" make me happy too.

What Makes You Happy?

p.s. I put Dan's poetry chapbook in the shop, just in case you're interested.

I'm Wishing

Happy 11/11 friends.

What a lucky day.
I have the day off and I have big plans to watch Gilmore Girls all day and work on projects.
So, make your wishes...all day long.
p.s. My Sister-in-law and kids are at DisneyLand today. They just happened to be at Snow White's wishing well (my favorite place) at 11:11 and they made a wish for me.
Super Super Lucky.

Do you have any special plans for today?

p.s. I'm already planning our party for November 11, 2011 and you are all invited.

We have been meaning to watch Ratatouille for a really long time.
We finally got around to it tonight.
Bono Baby needed a movie night.
He had a manicure today and pampering makes him moody.

We LOVED it.

If you have put off watching it, watch it.

It is too cute.
Do-Dads and What-Nots

I have been busy working in the fashion jewelry department at Macy's.
I wear mostly vintage jewelry so this is a new adventure for me.

and these Fossil crystal accented bumble bee's.
Oh, the joys of working retail.
I feel like all I do is get "the wants".

p.s. Did any of you watch the season finale of Mad Men last night?
Joan to the rescue.

Dan Picked A Winner

I'm sorry to bring the big news to you a bit late.
My new job is taking some time to wear in.

The giveaway winner is my new friend Laurie.
I am so happy that she won this mini blue magnolia tray.

Thanks for joining in on the fun.

I meant to finish off my gratitude week with a final post.
Instead, I'll just tell you that I am very thankful for the friends I have in my life.
You all mean the world to me.

I'm Hope I'm Turning Into Her

It is day five of my gratitude week and today is all about my Mommy.

My Mother is my best friend.

I hope to be just like her one day.

Thursday Date

My Daniel took me to The Museum of History and Industry today.
It was a lovely afternoon.

I was especially taken by the photographs and Seattle paraphernalia.

I'm a sucker for sailor photo's.

Dear Wish List

I think these Emily Martin hot and cold items are so sweet and useful.
I wish I had them to take with me tomorrow for my first day at work.
This Week's Treasure Hunt Finds

I love Miss Moppet's little confused face.
We've been reading this little book to Bono Baby at bedtime.
Is that strange?

Fabric for future projects.

Scented drawer liner. The scent has faded but the print is lovely.

Dan found another typewriter to add to his collection.
Some of them may go up in the shop sometime soon.
He doesn't want to be the crazy poet with a huge typewriter collection.

I forgot to show you what I found last weekend.
I'll work on that, if your interested.

p.s. Don't forget to enter the giveaway. I am so eager to see who wins.
The Film Portal
Day four of my gratitute week and I must tell you all that I am grateful for movies.
Movies are my escape.
A film can take me back in time.
I can watch an old favorite and feel like I'm with the person I first saw it with.
The first movie I saw in the movie theater was Snow White.
I saw it with my parents when I was very small.
The first movie I went to, without an adult, was Girls Just Want To Have Fun.
I thought I was so cool.
I have so many favorite movies with such wonderful memories attached to them.
I'm always making lists in my head of movies worthy of seeing in the theater, Netflix worthy films, and favorites I'd like to watch again.
I limit my DVD collection to only my favorites.
Movies make me happy.

Do you have a special film that brings back memories for you?

William And My Daniel Have Been Busy

My husband and his buddy William put out an online poetry journal semi annually.
I'm super excited about this one because one of my photographs was selected as the cover photo for the current fall issue.
(Don't tell anyone but I think I have an "in" with the editors.)
So click on it and go READ some poetry.

p.s. Remember to enter the giveaway.

Note to Friend: Lindsey, I thought some good reads might brighten up your New York day.
Home Again, Home Again, Jiggety-Jig

Day three of my gratitude week is all about my family.
I have an amazing family.
They don't like for me to say much about them on this blog so I'll just say, I am very lucky.

Sorry about the wedding photo, it was the only photo I could find with us all together.

Many of you probably already know this but Bono Baby is our family doggie.
He was given to my Mommy when my Daddy passed away.
We all love him very much.
He won't be staying with us in Washington forever but we like to pretend that he will.
He is a very special puppy.
He always makes everything better.
I will say this, I am most happy when I am closest to my family.
They, like Bono Baby, make everything better.

P.S. Don't forget to enter the giveaway.
