Something To Look Forward To

We're getting ready to take another cross country road trip.
I love being on the road with my Daniel.
We have big plans to get everything ready this weekend.
We leave next Thursday and I can't wait.
What are you doing this weekend?
p.s. I think we all need a little something to look forward to.
That is my wish for all of us.

Cool as a Cucumber

I'm in love with this little girl by Hide n Seek.
She is making me feel a little bit less hot.
Today, I'm wishing I was in my little Mississippi home with air conditioning.
I also wish I could go to the pool we had there.
Dan says this heat WAVE will pass.
This little lady makes me think he might be right.
p.s. Sorry I'm talking about the weather. I always get so bored when people go on about the weather. But, I can't help it today.

Summer Reads

My Daniel is a man who loves books. He writes poetry and he teaches English.
Sometimes he edits my blog.
He also recommends wonderful books.
But, this summer I've been looking for a book to get lost in (a beach read).
My Mommy says I need a good romance novel.
I'm not sure about that but I did get a great list of books from you, my friends.
-anything by Anita Shreve
-Niagra Falls All over Again by Elizabeth McCracken
-Brooklyn by Colm Toibin
-Julie and Julia by Julie Powell
(I can't wait to see the movie)
-The Story of Edgar Sawtelle by David Wroblewski
-Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides
-Confessions of a Shopaholic by Sophie Kinsella

Laura's List
-I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith
-The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

Amy's List
-Quentins by Meave Binchy
-Shadow Spinner by Susan Fletcher

The library's here in the Seattle area are amazing and it seems like every book I want is available. Love that. So I started my summer reading list off with Stephanie's recommendation, Confessions of a Shopaholic. Stephanie was my roommate in college and she and her Daddy first recommended that I read On the Road by Jack Kerouac (this helped me find my Daniel). If Stephanie recommends a summer read, you read it.
I finished it last night. I loved it. Stephanie was right, it was so so so much better than the movie.
Thank you friends for helping me with my Summer Reading List.
I'm off to find my next book
p.s. Please, keep the recommendations coming.

I want to be a "Joan"

We just finished watching season 2 of Mad Men.
I can't wait for August 16th.

This is the question.
Are you a Marilyn

or a Jackie?

Dan said that I was a Marilyn. I think so too.
But really I wish I was a Joan.

Who do you think you are?
We are in the middle of a heatwave here in the NorthWest. We're HOT.
This keeps playing in my head.
I know this heat is nothing compared to the 3 summers we spent in Mississippi. But, still.
I'm not a summer girl and summer clothing is not my thing.
Bono Baby is helping me cope with the heat. He is a warm weather doggie and he knows a thing or two about being HOT.

Bono's rules for staying cool go like this:
1. Smile even if you have to fake it.
2. Go with your buddies to 7-11 for a cool beverage.
3. Tell your girl that she doesn't have to blow dry her hair because you have plans to air dry while hanging your heads out of the car window while on your way to 7-11.

4. Lounge in front of the fan and take a nap.
5. Share a Popsicle with a favorite friend.
Isn't Bono helpful?
Do you have any tips?
We thought about running through the sprinklers but Bono doesn't do sprinklers.

I'm Wishing...

that I had a bike like this to ride around on.

I think most of us would love to ride around on a bike like this.
The Lovely List has one up for grabs.
Good Luck.
Fritzi Marie

p.s. Don't you think that Bono Baby would love to chill in that basket.

My boys helped me make a cupcake delivery this afternoon.
Bono Baby really wanted to lick them all but he was a good puppy.

Happy Weekend Dear Family and Friends

I Feel So Very Special

I won this lovely blog header from the adorable Katrina of Puglyfeet. First, I want to say that I LOVE her blog and I check it everyday. It makes me happy.
Second, I want to say that I have started a new blog. It's my wish blog. For now, it's private because I don't want to jinx any of my wishes. But, I hope to make it public soon.
Thank you Katrina, I think you are the cutest of the cute.

p.s. Don't you just love the blog header?
Hot Date Thursday

I'm getting ready for my date day with Daniel. This song was really special to us during our courtship, and it makes me think of my Daniel.

So, I'm busy preparing for my special day with my man.

Sunday Afternoon Adventure

I love this man times 100.
Happy Sunday Wishes To You

This puppy made my whole day.
If only I could find Bono Baby a top hat.
Penny Pincher

I've been coveting these Fluevogs for a while now.
Dan promissed to get them for me for Christmas.
Well, Fluevog is having a crazy sale (you need to check it out).
And my Sigourney's have been marked down (big time).
I am saving my pennies and hopefully these Sigourney's will come home with me soon.

Bono Is Ready For The Rain

Grandpa Morris gave Bono Baby a new raincoat.
We can't wait for the next rainy day.
We are so excited.

Treasure Hunt Saturday

Things are starting to get back to normal. We found a yard sale and an estate sale this weekend. These framed prints were a steal.

This vintage fabric (a birthday gift from Katherine and family) will soon be living in these frames.

Dan found a tiny magnifying glass. It fits in his reading kit perfectly.

I found these napkins and coasters. They are so wrong that they make me giggle. I think they will be perfect for a future anniversary get together.

"Rather would I single live than to my wife the britches give"

Did anyone find any treasure today?

This Girl Loves To ROCK

When I looked like this, my Daddy gave me a rocking chair. I rocked and rocked on it and probably let my brother and sisters rock on it too. Then it broke and it rocked no more.
My Daddy had big plans to fix it but he never got around to it.
My rocker sat in his machine shop for a really long time.

This is what it looked like without it's rockers.

This is what it looks like today. My Dad Morris fixed it for me. It is ready to rock again.
For now, it's Bono's and Dan's childhood Ernie's.

I am so happy.
Thank you Dad Morris

Congratulations Buffy-Bear

When my baby sister Buffy was born, I was eight years old.
She was my very own Cabbage Patch Kid.
I have never seen a baby as beautiful as Buffy.
She is getting her Masters degree this weekend.
I couldn't be happier for her.
Congratulations Buffy-Bear.
I am so proud of you.

Little Boys and Potty Humor

We helped out at Cub Scout day camp today.
What an adventure!
Little boys are super cute.
One special young man wanted to set up a play date with us.
I'm sure you can tell by my frazzled hair that it was hot and the sun was shining.
That didn't seem to phase the little men.
They ROCK.
Happy Thursday Dear Friends

Snorkel Buddies

We went swimming in Lake Sammamish today.
I jumped off the dock on a diving board.
We went snorkeling and I saw little fishies under my feet.
How FUN is that?!
Happy 44th Wedding Anniversary

Wishing you many more happy anniversary's to come.

Will You Be My Friend?

We took Bono to the park this morning. Bono thinks we went to make him happy (which is so true) but we also went to meet up with Dan's lovely friend Rachel.

Bono loved the ducks. He wanted to be friends with this one in particular. I think they are kindred spirits because they have the same coloring.

This is pretty Rachel.

She likes to take photographs too. So we had fun. We played on the swings.
Bono loves to feel the wind on his cute little face.

Then we went on a mini hike to this special place.
It was Bono's first visit.
Thank you for the lovely morning Rachel.
We had the most fun.

Here are some highlights from my 34th birthday.
Dan and Dad Morris surprised me with a trip to Boehm's chocolate. I got my favorite lady bug and bumble bee treats.

Daniel threw me a party.

Bono was invited and he dressed up as Nicely Nicely from Guys and Dolls. How appropriate.

Mom and Dad Morris helped Dan with the party but they were guests too.
Daniel is incognito in the photo's because he was busy behind the scenes.

My husband works "Magic." He can make any birthday amazing. Even one where Miss Kitty is a bit moody. I've been Rockin' The Boat lately and I need to lighten up.

I'm pretty sure that my wishes will come true this year.
Thank you to everyone for making me feel special yesterday.
It meant the world to me.

The blueberries are in full bloom in the front yard.
I needed to get out and walk off some "issues" so we went hiking.

Hooray for hiking, it makes everything better.

Bono is asleep now. He hiked and hiked.
This is him lounging at the end of the outing.

Dad CJ,
(Dad Morris thought you would like this)

Hope you all had a lovely Saturday.

Jim, we hope you feel better soon.
