To understand the world, you must first understand a place like Mississippi.
We went to William Faulkner's home, Rowan Oak. Rowan Oak is one of the most beautiful homes I have ever encountered. It was full of history and charm.
To get there, we walked through this wooded area. We were the only one's there because of the rain. We love that.
You know me, I have to turn everything into a modeling moment. I'm a poser, I've heard. I'm not talking about the kind of poser we knew in high school. I mean I'm big on posing for photo opportunities. If you call me a poser, of the high school variety, I'll cry.
This is Rowan Oak.
We toured the house. I even visited William Faulkner's powder room. How exciting.
This is his library.
This is a bust of Don Quixote in Faulkner's library.
Faulkner's office. I like this photo because you get to see the view of the courtyard. What a lovely place to write.
I love that this photo of Faulkner's bedroom looks like a painting. Dan's Mommy loves this kind of bedspread. You can find them at The Vermont Country Store. They are timeless and beautiful.
My favorite room was his wife Estelle's bedroom. They were childhood sweethearts. I loved the light in her room. I also hope to one day have a place like this to paint in.
