A Time Capsule in Downtown Vicksburg

We happened upon Abraham's Department Store on our way out of town. I had a vibe that it may have some of the infamous saggy bottom jammies tucked into one of it's corners.

Well, Abraham's was full of treasures. It was all old stock and hadn't been updated. It was the vintage lovers haven. Everything vintage but new with tags. Score.

The sales clerk, a lovely man, told us stories about this special store. The owner was an elderly lady who is not ready to let her store go. You see, the store was originally owned by her mother who had given birth to her in the apartment above the store.

This lovely man showed us these huge pants. He said that they are pretty popular around here. He was a very informative, chatty fellow.

He told us that the stock of this store was used in O'Brother Where Art Thou? How cool is that?

The best part of our visit to Abraham's was that they carried Dan's saggy bottom jammies so he got two pairs.
Thank goodness.

I love that nice man---and love that the sweet owner was born there. Good stuff. So glad Dan got restocked on his saggy-bottom pjs. You should post a picture of him modeling them.
