We made it through Thanksgiving which means we are that much closer to being home for Christmas. We had a lovely day full of good things. I have so many wonderful people in my life here in Mississippi and I am so thankful for them. The Hinton's and their extended family invited us to their shin-dig. I've never seen so many family members in one place and so much food. They even have Great Grandparents and I think that is the coolest thing.

This is Jim Hinton (my boss). He probably knows me (the real Sassy Pants Kitty) more than most around here. I'm not sure if that is a good thing some days.

We ate dinner with Brother and Sister Udall. Sister Udall is the best story teller. She has the cutest little giggle and she loves to tell us all how she met her husband. I imagine that they were the most handsome couple.

Dan makes a cute little butterfly. I have so much to be thankful for. I have my Dan, my Baby Bono, my family, my friends, pretty shoes, a lovely life and a hair appointment this week. Really, I feel like my life it truly blessed. I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving.

Happy Thanksgiving Friends and Family

We have started out Thanksgiving festivities early. This afternoon we went to see Australia. It was a nice escape. The costume designs were lovely and Nicole looked just like my beautiful friend Jeannine. It did have some cheese but that's okay over the holidays. I hope you all have a super fun day tomorrow.

So, today, instead of a tip I was given a compliment. A group of ladies were staring at me and when I dropped their food off, they told me that I look like Amy Lee. I said thank you and I took that compliment, put it in my pocket and decided that was better than a tip any day.

It reminded me of how Uncle Dale thought that I looked like Sarah Brightman when I was younger.

What do you guys think?

I had an ex-boyfriend tell me that I looked like Ricky Lake. Don't get me wrong, she's a nice looking lady but i wasn't flattered.

Rainy Days and Wishes Come True

It rained yesterday and some of the wishes on the wish tree fell to the ground. I've decided that this means they came true. So, Buffy, Arianna, Dan and Ariel all had a wish come true.

Holiday Prep Movie List

This is my list of guilty pleasure "get in the festive frame of mind" movies. I like to cuddle up with blankies and watch them with my Daniel and my Buffy and my Bono Baby.

I've got one down so far. I'm going to watch them all this week. It's my Thanksgiving goal.

Tippi Tippi Toe Toe

We're going home in 10 days. I can't wait. I'm sick of a lot of things right now. Dan would say this is so punk rock of me to say. But, really, I just want to check out. I'm sure most of us feal this, right? Pretty Kristen reminded me of our "strees therapy" trips to the mall to buy something red when we were going to the University of Utah. Anyhow, she challenged me to go on one of "our" shopping trips last week. I went. Kristen, the mall here is just like the mall in Idaho Falls in 1994. Does that give you a visual? I couldn't find anything red or pretty or tempting and I got GRUMPIER. But, I did find this...

It's not red but it's blue to match my mood. I had to make a second trip to the mall because I won't buy anything from The Gap without a coupon. It's just not right or worth it. So, I came back and used my coupon and I left feeling a little bit happier. Horray for retail therapy and pretty friends like Kristen.

Slumber Party Update

Our Friday night slumber party was the most fun. Hannah made chicken enchiladas and Dan made Julie's famous salsa. Ariel was the girl in charge of entertainment and let me tell you, she meant business. She brought a plethora of movies.

I'd say that Arianna was the slumber party winner. She was the last one down. I think she watched three movies. She was also the last one to wake up.

Daniel made us waffles for breakfast. After all of the ladies went home I spent the whole afternoon lounging on the bed that was set up for them in front of the tv. We had quite the comfy set up. I didn't even make it to bed last night. I slept on the living room floor. Dan did too.

There is a SLUMBER PARTY on the horizon.

Tomorrow night is Slumber Party night over here. Dan will be hiding out in his office for the evening. I think he is a fan of slumber parties though. He is always a good sport about it and he usually ends up with lots of treats. It's really kind of cute. The best part is that he makes the girls breakfast in the morning. Dan is the cutest.

Pumpkin Chili

The pumpkin recipe swap went well. There was a good turn out and lots of pumpkin goodies were shared. This is how my centerpiece looked the night of. It's about to be replaced with a winterland theme. Dyan brought some yummy chili and I thought you would be interested. She said it was super easy and I thought it was SO good.

Dyan's Pumpkin Chili
1 onion
1 can kidney beans
2 cans stewed tomatoes
1 can green beans
1 can pumpkin puree
1/2 cup water
1 T. chili powder
1 bay leaf
pepper to taste

Cook in slow cooker on for for 2-3 hours (or simmer on stove for 40 min.), stirring occasionally

Update: Add a can of black beans or 1 lb ground beef.

Oh, how I wish I could sing.
This also makes me wish I could be with my sisters.

Today, I made friends with a chicken named Billy.

Billy, the chicken, is Crew's little pet. They play hide and go seek in the carport and jump on the trampoline together. Crew likes that he can fly.

Have I told you all that I think Crew is about the cutest little boy out there. Today, I accidentally threw away his Mountain Dew and french fries at work and I felt like a huge jerk. I tried apologizing to him and I told him I would get him some more fries. He told me that I had to make them. This little man is smart and has a way with the ladies.

Dan loves animals. He told us all about the rooster that lives outside the Staples in Issaquah. I hope he is still there so we can go see him when we're visiting.

To do list

Thanksgiving decorating just got ckecked off on my to do list. This year is going to be simple. We are leaving for Christmas break in early December so I'm not going to decorate big time. I know you all love hearing about my to do list. But, it's a big deal right now. I have a lot of things to get done before the carefree Holling-Johnson Christmas in California and very Morris Christmas in Washington take place.

Mother Gnome came out for the pumpkin harvest. She is watching over us while we are dealing with lots of stress. This is Dan's last semester of classes and he is BUSY. I'm busy stressing about EVERYTHING. Future, past, present. Oh, I'm a stress ball.

My centerpiece idea turned out lovely. It looks like a it should be in a little wonderland cabin.

What to do...what to do...

The RS is having a pumpkin recipe swap party here at our house tomorrow night. It dawned on me that I should do something fall'ish to decorate. This is all very last minute. So, I'm going to make some of these little fancy leaf thingy's. I'm telling you about it because if I do that, I'm 75% more likely to get it done by tomorrow night. Keep me on track, friends. I'm also going to go out to the storage shed and get out some of the fall stuff. People are coming over, I need to decorate. I can't pretend it's Christmas already if people are coming over for a pumpkin themed party, right?

Today has been one of those GRUMPY Mondays. I hope Tuesday is better.

My Melissa friend moved away yesterday and I'm a big baby about it.

Dan has been putting up with me and my mood swings for the last 24 hours. He's a good man. This is Bug (Roger and Melissa's puppy) Dan liked to squeeze him and I love that they are color co-ordinated.

Bug, Rizzo, Roger and Melissa spent their last night in Hattiesburg at our house. We had a slumber party and I wish it could have ended with a huge breakfast but...

our friends made a quick get away. I had mixed feelings about it. On one hand, I wanted to be there to wave goodbye as they left in their moving truck. On the other hand, the whole goodbye process makes me too too sad.

Thank Goodness it's Friday
I'm so tired and stressed out. All I want to do is watch YouTube and take a nap. I think that is what I AM going to do. I deserve it. I say so.

Besides, I need to get in a better mood for my night out on the town with Daniel.

Okay, okay, so I skipped over Thanksgiving. I'm backing up. My Christmas self recognizes that Thanksgiving is a holiday too. Despite not being able to go home for the Knott's Berry Farm extravaganza, I will still be celebrating. I can't help myself.

Pretty Taylor made the cutest Turkey cookies at work today. She was so happy with how they turned out. I think they are adorable. I'm giving you a big ol' pat on the back Taylor.

By the way, they sell like hotcakes.
