I LOVE STRAWBERRIES!

Strawberries are one of my favorite things. I'm REALLY fond of them. I like how they taste and I think they are the prettiest little piece of food out there.

Here I am in my Strawberry Shortcake dress. I must have been at a carnival or something (notice the Beer in the background). I even have a strawberry painted on my cute little cheek.

I found these the other day at Sweet Poppy's store on Etsy. I had to have them. I am so excited for the future birthday cakes that will be fancied up with these little cupcake toppers.

My Mom tells me stories of how when I was a little girl we would go to family reunions in Missouri and I would sit on the table of food with my legs wrapped around the bowl of strawberries (I was really little and I'm sure it was the cutest sight ever).
My favorite thing about the strawberry is that it makes me happy. It reminds me of the past. The days when all I could think about was Strawberry Shortcake, Care Bears, and The Smurfs. They also remind me of my dear sweet Uncle Kent. Uncle Kent came into my life in a big way when I was diagnosed with Pseudo Tumor Cerebri back when I was in college. I had to move back home and Uncle Kent became my dearest friend. He would bring me foreign films and Sex and the City tapes to watch and always, always he would bring me something Strawberry related. He would tell me that he could spoil me until I got married someday and then it would be my husband's privilege. Uncle Kent would leave strawberry surprises on my doorstep at home on a regular basis up till the day that I married Dan. I will never forget the kindness he showed me or the strawberries. I also wanted to share with you one of my favorite lip balms. It's Strawberry scented.

I just remember Mom buying your bulk packages of frozern strawberries. For me, it's always been about the doughnut holes. There's nothing better than waking up with a white bag of crumb doughnut holes on your pillow! Maybe Dan should start leaving a little bowl of strawberries for you on your nightstand. lol. I wish we had a picture of you hogging the strawberries...I mean, looking cute with the strawberries.

Love, Buffy

What a sweet story about Uncle Kent. Your post reminds me of when we would snack on strawberry pies from Marie Calendars and watch Pride and Prejudiced. Good times.

I love strawberries too, my first record was a strawberry short cake one. My family tells me the story that we never had strawberries on our strawberry bush because I would eat them all, even when they were still green. I'm in heaven right now because you can get a package of them for less then 2 bucks. Just another thing to make me think we were seperated at birth. I saw like 5 things today I wanted to buy you.

Amy,
I remember that strawberry pie. Jared B. (the sweetest friend ever) bought it for us. We ate it with our fingers and it was GOOD. I also remember that we put my futon mattress on the floor and stayed up all night watching P&P. We are slumber partying queens. We're also good with a remote. REWIND
