BYU Idaho Band and Habitat for Humanity

Well, the big event took place yesterday. BYU Idaho's band came to town to work on a Habitat for Humanity build project here in Hattiesburg and perform to raise money for Habitat. I was on the planning committee here in the stake. I'm so happy that everything went so well.

The band members worked on building two storage sheds for a Habitat neighborhood.

They worked really hard. It was a lovely day though. In the 70's with little humidity. LUCKY.

Here they are putting up the shed.

Another group worked on shoveling out dirt that was next to the foundation of a new home. The home is being built for a handicapped man.

We had two news crews show up. This is the band director, Diane Soelburg.

This is one of the sheds after they finished.

I spent time picking up recycling and being cute and stuff.

This is me at the concert. Dan and I had a great time. The band was amazing.

Well, I had a good day. Two of the band members stayed over at our house and left this morning. I think it was a good experience for me as well as the community. The mayor of Hattiesburg talked at the beginning of the concert and one of the band members told me that his being there helped them to feel really special. I think they are really special.
