Pretty Nicole, HAPPY BIRTHDAY.
I hope you have bunches of fun.
I can't wait to hear what kind of adventures you have on your big day.
I wish I could be there to celebrate with you.
I love you.
hugs, Auntie Kat
You're birthday is on my lucky number day. I hope you know that that means you are going to have a lovely year full of all things good and wonderful. Make lots of wishes and get a mani/pedi and take time at Barnes and Noble to really enjoy your mocha and magazine reading. I know you're super busy so you might not get to do all of that but imagine that you have all the time in the world and enjoy being the amazing woman and friend that you are.
love you.
Happy Birthday Pretty Karyn. I'm going to celebrate with you and I'm super thrilled. I know we'll have a great time. Maybe we can make a cake in my Mom's kitchen or maybe we could go to Trader Joes and get some scones instead. I promiss to get you a candle to blow out regardless.
love you.

Oh, I'm sorry the birthday posts are coming early but I didn't want to forget anyone while I'm away from my computer. Also, I've posted this photo of Karyn before but I love it so O'well.

Heartfelt Happy Sunday

Sweet Hannah and her Mommy Linda (my dear friend) just stopped by to give me a going away present. I was so surprised and touched. I thought the gift bag was so pretty that I didn't want to open it, so I looked at it for a bit.

I'm a curious girl, so I couldn't wait long. It was filled with wonderful things. A luggage tag, a travel wallet, a yummy smelling Cynthia Rowley perfume sample and the cutest lotion with a butterfly on it.

There was also a passport holder which I was so excited about. Yesterday Dan and I went to look for a little something for one of my dearest friend's birthday and I found a passport holder that I wanted really bad. I talked myself out of it. They must have been inspired.
I am so thankful to have such wonderful friends and examples in my life.
Hannah and Linda, you made my whole week, maybe two weeks.
I love you guys.

The flowers are blooming this week. It seems like all the pretty spring flowers are here for a week or so and then they all go away when the humidity/heat sets in.
Dan and I have had a busy day. The Young Men and Young women at church had a pancake breakfast fundraiser for Girls Camp and young men stuff. Dan helped with the grits and I made orange juice and washed dishes.
Then, we went to Hubfest in Downtown Hattiesburg. It was kind of like Monrovia Days or Salmon Days in Issaquah. It was a good time.

Dan and I were super full from breakfast when we got there.

We saw this band from New Orleans. There name was Dr. Michael White and his Jazz quartet. They were Classy.

Here we are being cute.
Daniel bought me a rainbow Popsicle from Bootsy the ice cream man. Bootsy was super nice.
Then we saw the Zydepunks from New Orleans. They were really cool. I hope to see them play a real show one day. Well, one that isn't outside in the middle of the day with children running around.

Dan and I had a great date day. I feel like I saw Hattiesburg in a whole new way. I just wish the humidity/heat would stay away for a while longer so the flowers would stay pretty.

Okay, I'm on a Buffy kick. Annie I love you too. Well, Buffy posted this photo of herself on facebook and I couldn't resist saving it to my computer and posting it here. I think she looks amazing. She bought her tickets to Hawaii for next month. She is going to visit a college roommate. I am so excited for her. I've never been to Hawaii but Annie loves it there so I figure it must be really cool.

Dream House Ideas
I love this house. Its a one room schoolhouse that a couple fixed up.

I hope to have a house where I can have a garden for gnomes to live in and make wishes.

This kitchen is in the schoolhouse and I think it's pretty.

This shower would look so cool in a room with an claw foot tub. I don't really like the feet on it though, I think they should be black or white.

This sink is beautiful. I imagine having a room close to my garden where I can paint and work on projects.

I hope to have a cast iron bed one day. I'm on the hunt for one that will work. I also found one in the Sundance catalog that was nice and pricey. I want to find an old one that has been painted a few times and looks well loved.

Mommy and CJ
I'm coming home to visit.
Kat's coming home.
I know you can't wait to see me.
We're going to have so much fun taking our road trip to Salt Lake City.
Mommy, we might get to go to Disneyland.
Benner said he was going to look for tickets to fly down from Utah to go with us.
Benner and I love to go to Disneyland together because we get to act like big kids.
Our favorite ride to go on is the teacups.
He always lets me pick out my favorite color teacup.

Daniel is going to be sad about not going to Disneyland. We fell in love at Disneyland. Dan proposed to me outside the castle at Snow Whites wishing well. I was in shock. I wasn't expecting him to propose so it was very romantic. GO DAN.

I bet you are going to be super surprised to see me. I can't wait to take you on lots of walks and watch movies with you. I promise to get you a cup-of-soup for a special treat.

I'm so excited. I'm going to miss Daniel terribly but I can't wait to see my family and recharge my batteries. I'm also terribly excited about going to Salt Lake City to see Dan and Will read.
They are going to Utah State in Logan, Utah, to present papers. They have also set up a poetry reading in Salt Lake at Nobrow Coffee and Tea Company.
I can't wait.

Jeannine, Sarah and Baby Warren came out during Spring Break last year around this time too. Jeannine took this photo of Dan and me. I was really attached to that denim jacket last year. Jeannine has five kids now. Sometimes I can't believe it.

Buffy and Kat

These photos are from last year when Buffy came to visit for her Spring Break vacation.
We had so much fun.

I'm miss my Buffy Bear.

Buffy, look at all the pretty spring flowers.

My older brother Forrest sent me this photo of his family. They live in North Carolina. I thought this photo was so cool.

Thoughtful Marjorie sent the sweetest note and cute little crafty buttons. I'm not a scrapbook er (she guessed that) and I am so excited to make them into push pins for my newish bulletin board. I'm still looking for the perfect vintage fabric or wallpaper to use as the background for my kitchen bulletin board. I think this will spice it up big time. Thanks for being such a great friend Marjorie. I feel like we are kindred spirits.

I want this dress. I love the color.
I've been dreaming about decorating today. I like mixing french antiques and art nouveau pieces with farmhouse furniture. I'm looking forward to putting a home together in the future. I'm also looking forward to having the funds to get some special pieces reupholstered.
I really like this bookshelf and the wall behind it. The wall reminds me of a New Orleans parlour and the movie Fur (Robert Downey Jr's apartment on that film was gorgeous).

I hope to own an antique french chandelier one day. I would love to have one hanging over an old rustic dining room table.

I love most everything about this bathroom. The tub is too small though.
Oh, a girl can dream, cant she?
Hey Mommy, keep your eye out for me at the estate sales. You always find beautiful treasures.

We had a party tonight.

This is Dan's new grill. Chris and Martha brought over Beer Brats, cabbage salad and baked beans with turkey. Dan bought all kinds of hot dogs and tofu dogs for me. Suzanne and Neil brought baked beans and Genevieve and Scott brought a broccoli salad. I made Julie's salsa recipe (it was a hit), spice cake, and my Mommy's potato salad and deviled eggs.

We had a mini Easter egg hunt for the kids.
Gabby, Elise, Miles, Joey and Emma are super cute.

Joey found the super surprise egg. It was hiding behind a gnome.

Here I am with some of the special women in my life. Martha, Genevieve and Suzanne are all amazing and beautiful.
I wish I had taken a photo of the husbands. Sorry.
Thanks for coming over you guys.
